Yes, Kannur definetely need 4th Platform, SR and Palghat division totally avoided Northern Malabar area. Still majority of the station are in very pathetic condition, SR did not done any development after British era. 2 Pitlines and 3/4 Stabling lines are approved when E Ahammed became MoS, After that, nothing done, it is still in papers :'(
