SF train is an ever green option because
(1) All classes of accommodation i.e. AC, non AC reserved/ general accommodation are available, it serves people of all the economic strata from rich to poor.
(2) Maximum patronage is guaranteed due to availability of all classes of accomodation. Chances of failure is minimum, very rarely SF trains run empty where as others do run empty in many cases..
Maximum numbers of passengers can be accommodated. All 24 coaches carry passengers where as in rest of the options, 2 generator cars are used, which add to train load in addition generating noise and polluting fumes.
(4) AC SF express is bad for IR as two generator cars cause loss of revenue and also no extra fare is collected by IR in lieu of that. In spite of being fully ac rake with 130kmph+ potential they operate like SF train only. ACSF trains normally run at sub-optimal load i.e. with lesser number of coaches than maximum permitted (24ICF/22LHB) and operate like SF trains only by way of 110kmph operating speed, similar priority and avg. speed. It would be better if AC SF trains could be made full length by adding more sleeper coaches to serve more passengers and give more revenues to IR without creating additional time slot in the saturated IR tracks.
(5) Raj/Shat/Dur/Hums/Tejs at least give 20% extra base-fare to IR and give faster speed/ journey time to passengers are at least better than AC SF trains.
(6) GR are good in the sense that GR ACIIIE berths are about 2-3% cheaper than ACIII, but the service is degraded by 12.5% by increasing the berths from 64 to 72. Even this extra revenue to IR is of no use which is frittered away due to costs involved in generator cars. For 24 side berth paxs the journey of GR is hell, while the rest 48 get a benefit by way of discount of 2-3 %. The disadvantage of generator coaches is already there. Most of the GRs are running with sub-optimal loads, give avg. speed of SF trains only, except a few GRs like MUM, MAS, etc,so no better than SF expresses.
(7) SF expresses carry people of all classes and a is a true representive of Indian society, and integrate the people of all economic strata ,where as other premium trains separate the elite from the common masses.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers 94 Special Trains will be run between various H.S.Nanded and Panvel as detailed below:-
Accordingly,Train No. 07617 H.S.Nanded – Panvel Special train will depart H.S. Nanded at 17:30 hrs o­n 16th, 17th, 20th, 23rd, 24th, 27th, 30th, 31stOctober; 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 24th, 27th, 28th November; 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 25th, 26th, 29thDecember, 2016; 1st, 2nd, 5th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd,
26th, 29th & 30thJanuary 2017 and arrive Panvel at 09:00 hrs o­n the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07618 Panvel – H.S.Nanded Special train will depart Panvel at 16:00 hrs o­n 17th, 18th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 28th, 31st October; 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 18th, 21st, 22nd, 25th, 28th, 29th November; 2nd, 5th, 6th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 30thDecember, 2016; 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 17th, 20th, 23rd, 24th, 27th, 30th & 31stJanuary, 2017 and arrive H.S. Nanded at 09:25 hrs o­n the next day.
Enroute, these special trains will stop at Purna, Parbhani, Parli Vaijnath, Latur Road, Latur, Usmanabad, Kurduvadi, Daund, Pune, Chinchvad and Talegaon stations in both the directions.
These special trains consist of 12 coaches, viz., o­ne 1st AC cum II Tier, o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III Tier, three Sleeper Class, four General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

It's a trail before introducing new train.. Glad to see Chichwad in the stop list.. Lots of people of Nanded and Parbhani area are living in this region. In the return direction, this station will help to stop train at least 20-25 in order to cover slack time.. :)

It's a trial before extension of 17613/14 to Panvel. But what is this bullshit? Only 3 SL's, that too in Diwali Period. By this press release, we clearly came to know apathy of SCR towards Nanded Division. By looking to history of this zone, it's clear that 17613/14 will be extending to Panvel with same coach composition. Now, we needs to fight to increase no of coaches in this train. For how many we needs to fight? Can't they give all things in one shot? God knows when the situation will be better here!! :(

Although Lonavla Stop is not in the list. This train will stop unofficially in Lonavla. Plenty of trains used to stop here, although there is no official stop. I hope by regular run Lonavla will get commercial stop. Tough chance for Karjat to get a stop.
