Something that is needed. On other hand,i feel that one Bengaluru-Karwar/Kannur train should be separated and one should run via new line and other one existing line.

it'll be better if they send some 2-4 coaches from MYS to KAWR with MYS-DWR express till Hassan and from there it can go to KAWR with the diverted 16523/4

The chance of bifurcation is very less. About time change SR may say no slot available at MAQ due to Ernad/CBE FP/ MAO ICE etc leaving around that time.

No :)

Less rush? No, initially after GC the night train was from MAQ to SBC. Then later the mix-link-composite all due to politics.

Usually for uphill trains, brake checks are not required at every station.Rigorous brake checking is required for downhill trains only.

Can 2 passenger trains go in the same direction back to back with a 1 or 2hr gap ?? Is it possible to start some train at MAQ around 7PM towards Hassan side ?? Presently SBC-Karwar exp crosses Sakleshpura-Subramanya between 3-6AM and return between 23:00-2AM.

I guess so. With the total block of 7 hours existing and no restrictions with crossings for passengers, 2 in each direction can go up and down suitably timed for crossings at intermediate stations.

All locos plying in the Ghats are AEB equipped. So the chances of both braker locos failing with passenger trains is almost zero. On the other hand, freights are a bit antiquated compared to passenger rolling stock, be it when in comes to braking or in general. With the momentum that a loaded freight train carries while coming downhill, any minor failure can lead to a derailment.

On IRI atlas Sakleshpur to Subrahmanya Road distance is showing just 55km while on National Train enquiry system (NTES) its showing 109km. Which one is correct?

On IRI, you will get the actual rail distance in kms - which is 55 kms. The official kms are most probably inflated - in this case, doubled to 109 km - to account for the steep hill climb from SBHR to SKLR, so as to price the ticket accordingly.

Though actual distance is 55 kms, the chargable distance is 110kms. We have to pay double charge in the ghat section.
