Now I know such things are common at other places but here in Goa its rare and only happening with this train I think which implies the significance of this train for Goa as a whole but still neglected by IR
Heard something interesting about this train about from some friends of mine and dad at Vasco Da Gama, that prior to the night before its departure in the morning passengers mostly unreserved ones from the entire state gather outside the premises of VSG Railway station and spend the entire night outside the station because of following two reasons:
1. The officials of VSG railway station don't allow the unreserved passengers in until morning and even maybe some people feel it convenient outside as the place is much less smelly than the tracks. Lol.
2. Train departs Vasco early in the morning at 7.10 am and unlike other states local buses don't start here early at 5.00 am or so. Some people may say that they can board it at Madgaon or Sanvordem

since Madgaon is having some KR trains coming from Pernem or Canacona ends and it reaches Sanvordem at a good time but its UR coaches get full at Vasco itself.
So the entire point of the above discussion is that the this action must be frequently witnessed by the Railways, why don't they realize that this is one of the most important trains running in IR and the only one connecting Goa to AP, Orissa, West Bengal and places in Karnataka like Hospet, Gadag, Bellary and finally free it of its burden of slip coaches so S.E.R. who very well Know its demand can augment it with more coaches and also increase its frequency to daily.
Also we very well know how much great the current slip is but that greatness is far beyond our imagination so we want something great which we can actually imagine and that is by having a simple full length train from Vasco to Hyderabad which is not as great as this slip train.
Once the train is made daily and more UR coaches are added it would become less crowded at Vasco and it people would be able to board it at Madgaon or Sanvordem hassle free.

But sadly IR doesn't pay much attention to it. Even the slip train running with this train should be delinked as run as a separate full length train with good timings.

There is no official halt for this train at DDS you will have to book till CLR or LD. Or else you can try boarding at VSG incase of UR coach. Regarding DDS halt I think this train does have a brief stop there but its not an official one.

Goa has been always neglected from railways for internal connectivity. Only Madgaon gets train that too just coz of an imp station in Konkan route.
Goa is a small state but it doesn't mean it dont requires internal connectivity, when mrts runs in cities like Delhi Mumbai Hyderabad n Chennai etc Goa is also not small as per area then.
Railway can atleast arrange few things for internal connectivity in Goa.It even dont require much, 6 to 8cars DEMU rake will also make somehow Goans happy.

asking and expecting a long distance rain from SWR for VSG is a lost cause, which is why demands is for a simple DEMU which will provide connectivity to MAO/KAWR, which have decent and direct connectivity to other parts of India.
The need of the hour is a long distance train actually towards Delhi/GKP/south side from Goa interior, but SWR is operating only BOXN rakes from these place, not passenger. They could raise a hell load of revenue here than by running premiums else where.
I am going to complaint in pgportal myself regarding this, just waiting for my paper on 12th to get over.

I still strongly support KR taking over Vasco Londa route
Yeah a DEMU from Vasco to Karwar would be a success also extending Mangalore Madgaon express to Vasco would definitely raise its occupancy. Vasco being the largest city of Goa and also having very high migrated population compared to other cities in Goa like Madgaon and Panjim deserves better rail connection then the present one.
SWR is least bothered about providing rail connectivity to Goa they only care about Karnataka. I still strongly support KR taking over Vasco Londa route.

Too bad of SWR
SWR only wants to run freight trains to Vasco just take this example people demanded Vasco Howrah Amaravati express to be made daily and a new train from Vasco to Hyderabad but ex RM Kharge once again proved how biased railways are by making UBL BZA Amaravati express and UBL SC express daily.
Even in case of Goa express they are not ready to give the entire train to Vasco nor ready to make it 24 coach train. Too bad of SWR.

Sourav, I am asking you, whether VM or PDY can handle 3-4 hour cleanup for a UBL-VM/ PDY on a regular basis? I am not asking any big favour for this SWR train. Let us not get into too many technicalities of primary maint, secondary maint, pit line, etc.

SR and SWR are getting free run of a CR train, by using Chalukya rakes. SWR is happy as it has distrubed their own zone people,by slowing down this train.
Why SR or SWR is not running any train (don't say weekly via Salem)? People are breaking their backs in the Krishnagiri-TV Malai road, which is the worst road I have ever seen in my life.
But, coming to the point, why SR can't give some water and clean up the train at VM or PDY for this UBL train?

Let us not get into problems, for which we cannot propose any solutions. This discussion is about timing/ TT of a UBL-MAS spl and landed somewhere else. Still, I am not convinced about why this UBL train cannot start from MS or go any other nearby stn for cleanup and return?

Why can't IR run a Weekly service to Vasco Da Gama with this rake. This rake lies idle from Monday Morning 8 am atleast to Thursday Night 2 pm ( excluding primary maintenance).

It can depart LTT Mondays at 20:50 ERS Duru slot n arrve VSG Tues Morn at 8 am. Similarly it can depart Vasco at 19:05 hrs (VSG PNBE slot) to arrive LTT at 05:45 hrs just behind KK.

This train takes 22 hours to cover the distance, but wastes 2 days in effect. Dep VSG 1430 and Arr MAS 1155. Return journey 17311 also same way with MAS dep 1355 and arr VSG 1300.
Suggest the following TT for proper utilisation:
VSG DEP 2045 (in line with VSG-YPR exp) and arrive at YPR by 1030-1045. Dep YPR at 1115 and arr MAS 1730-1745. Return can leave by 2200 at MAS (slot available for 4 days/ week) and arrive at YPR 0425 and leave YPR at 0440 (KCVL-YPR slot) and arrive UBL 1200 and VSG 1800.
Advantages are:
1. Only one day is spent in travel

3. At present, both up and down trains waste more than 1 hour in and around YPR. Especially from MAS to YPR can be covered in 6-1/2 hours, but takes around 8 hours.

Ahead of the railway budget to be presented in the parliament later this month, the Sanvordem-Curchorem rail consumers association (SCRCA) has urged Union minister for railways, Suresh Prabhu, to restore the various train services along the south-western railway (SWR) route which were suspended in 1996 during the gauge conversion work, but not restored since then.
SCRCA has requested Prabhu to restore the express train service on the Vasco-Miraj and Vasco-Bijapur routes, considering the needs of the large number of people traveling on these routes for business, medical care and other purposes. It has also demanded restoration of the Vasco-Mumbai express trains via Londa, Belgaum and Pune.
Speaking to TOI, SCRCA president Devanand Bhandari said, "The number of passengers traveling to Belgaum, Ghatprabha and Miraj from South Goa has increased manifold during the
