For Mumbaikars travelling towards Gorai Beach, Essel World or Water Kingdom, this is the best station to go from. Instead of going by a long roadway through Bhayander, people can alight at Borivali, go to Borivali station (WEST), take BEST Bus no 294/247 (10 min frequency) or autorikshaws also available, to reach Gorai Creek Ferry Terminal and take ferry to Gorai Jetty for Gorai Beach further taking autorikshaw to Gorai beach, take ferry to essel world for essel world/water kingdom/global vipassana pagoda.
For people in Thane and other suburbs, there is direct buses run by NMMT, TMT etc.
I tried the same mode last year, very convenient
For Thane people, instead of coming to Borivali, it would be convenient to come to Bhayander railway station and take MSRTC/MBMT buses (road route) plying to Gorai/Esselworld
Borivali nancy colony ST depot to Pune swargate M.S.R.TC shivneri fare is Rs. 510.
But i would suggest u to take the dadar pune shivneri. There frequency is better and price is also low. Even the bus stand is very near to dadar eastern station. Whereas the borivali st depot is bit far from borivali station. You have to take auto to reach there who's price would be Rs 60-100 as per the timings and weather. Also in rainy season, the borivali buses would take more time bcoz they have to come via western expressway which is most notorious for traffic jams during monsoons whereas the dadar buses directly take the chembur route and eastern expressway which hardly gets jammed as u would
Another option is from Borivali, come to Thane by road (via, Kashi-Mira, Ghodbunder) and take bus to Pune (from Vandana Talkies ST Stand, Thane).
BEST, TMT buses ply between Thane & Borivali.
i think its neither tmt nor best, but msrtc b/w tna and bvi via ghodbunder
Travelling in Western Railway from Mumbai... Generally, first halt will be Borivali... If interested in nicely packed, near home made taste, pure veg thali food, order from sagar thali, situated just outside Platform No.1 in Borivali West towards north end.
He will deliver on your train as well... just give him order on phone and give your train number coach number and berth number, you will get a delivery on your seat.click here
what is the phone no to contact??
I refrained from posting all details like phone number etc, as someone could have constituted it as Advertisement.click here
You can even try Goga hotel, Last month i ordered dinner from Hotel Goga, & gave my Coach no & seat no to them, at Borivali station their guy came to deliver my dinner packet , And It contain Two subji i.e PBM,Alu Mutter,Dhokla,3 Fulkas,Pickels,Dal fry ,Jira Rice n Papad. Food was delicious much better than travelkhana.
What are charges for Goga? Menu is similar at Sagar. Last charged price of Sagar was Rs.120 (including all charges).
i forget to mention, they also served sweet dish which contain two small pieces of gulab jamun.
sagar too serves a sweet, generallya gulab jamun or shrikhand... It has a Chass as well... It seems like both have almost similar menus, and near equal price.
On next trip i will try food from Sagar..:)
And I have already decided to order from Goga. Never knew that Goga delivers at platform. Always knew its resturant and thali... but was not aware about its train delivery. Thanks.
