In case if a passenger wants to switch trains from other station in Katni, auto drivers are easily available on PF 1 side which drop to KMZ or KTES in INR 10
Are they available at 2am also ?
Now charges increased to RS 20
But the fare increases 2 times after 23:00 to 6:00.
KTE to KMZ - 10/-
KTE to KTES -20/-
If you want to go NKJ then you have to go on PF-6 side
There you get auto for 15/- only.
waha ka local popular name kya hai KMZ aur KTES ka?
otherwise KMZ ke jagah KTES na pahuch jaye confursion mein
KMZ ko Murwara hi kahte hai
Or KTES ko south station.

While arriving into Katni from Jabalpur Side, there is a siding / pit-line on the left most side of PF-1. If you are lucky, you can spot some 4-5 electric locos parked one behind other in a long queue (WAM-4/WAP-4/WAG-5/7). So if your train arrives on PF-1/2 and halts for 5-10 mins., do get down for good clicks of the same.
that siding/pit line on the left most side is PF-1. And yes there is always 4-5 electric locos are parked everytime...
Electric trip shed at KTE . All wap 4 are of ET Shed
On this siding you can find
It is the nearest railway station to go to Bandhavgarh National Park (35 km). Taxis and Buses are available from Station to Park. The nearest major railhead is Katni Jn, 100 km away by road and 60 km by rail.
Great sightseeing Tip. Will serve as a guideline for tips under this category.
I visited Bandhavgarh National Park in 2010. It is one the places where you have great chances for sighting a tiger. I took 6 jeep rides in 3 different routes and spotted tiger 4 times. Kanha,Ranthambore and Tadoba didn't spot any. April and May are the best months to spot animals as they come to a few waterholes left. Don't take the guaranteed elephant safari to spot tigers as they are stage set. Be sure not to wear bright colored clothes and carry a binocular.
