Maddur is well known for its tasty Maddur Vada which is a savoury fritter-type snack.. This snack derives its name from the town of Maddur which is in the Mandya district of Karnataka. It is frequently sold on trains that traverse between Bangalore and Mysore.

Kokkrebellur located about 20 kms from here is a pelicanry- Season from January to June, a tiny village is home to the Painted storks and grey pelicans which come here for breeding in this season- The trees get filled with these ebauties that its hard to find the leaves on the tree- An awesome place where villagers have learnt to stay without hurting the birds as they attract fine- They have also set up a small medication centre for caring of ill birds.
KSRTC SKGS available from Maddur but generally tend to be crowded- Better to hire an auto or taxi to and fro Maddur to visit this place
