Pay and use air-conditioned waiting hall available at PF 3-4.
Now it is AC waiting hall, right? I saw a board when train halted at Salem
Yes. That's correct !!
Updated my post. Thanks for bringing into my notice.
Waiting hall at PF 4 is best ever seen. Newly inaugrated. Total 17 charging points with a seating capacity of 33. Separate hall for ladies & gents with attached toilets, urinals & bathroom which are clean. Also separate toilet for differently abled. Pics are for Gents waiting hall only.
I think they now made it AC hall or is it separate? I saw q board regarding AC waiting hall at PF 3 & 4 ☺
Railway Junction Bus stand is just outside junction's entrance . All the town buses boarded here goes to Old Bus stand (Town Bus stand) through New Bus stand. Ticket fare is Rs.8 (max). Autos (not prepaid) are also available outside at nominal rates.
One small correction sir not all the buses go via new bus stand.
But most of the buses do.
Yes most frequent one is bus no 13
Buses o.k. but what about the foods at SA PF's??? Too Much Price. Instead You have to wait for One Hr and You can reach Erode Jn.. There you can find varieties with good, cheap ....etc..
The tip category is about transport available and there is nothing to say about food here. I don't know about the food prices at SA. If you could provide a tip regarding the foods available along with their prices, it would be useful.
ARENCO catering foods are available from platform vendors. eg lemon rice, curd rice etc. I have tried both and they are really good. Food purchased at around 12 pm was good even at 7 pm in travel. Prices are nominal about 18/- or so. But the vendors try to fleece passengers.
Yercaud is a popular hill station in Tamil Nadu after Ooty and Kodaikanal. Yercaud is situated at a distance of 40 km from Salem city and offers a much needed short break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
How to reach: Salem Junction is the nearest railhead, 30 km away by road. TNSTC / SETC buses are available from New Bus Stand. The frequency is good. One may alternatively hire a cab to reach Yercaud. Plenty of accommodation options are available to suit every pocket.
Once I went to Yercaud when I was Studying Degree. We had an Excursion and this place was Awesome with Scenic Beauty, Specially that Lake which is located at the Centre Offers Boat Ride(Pedal).
One way taxi fare is about Rs. 600. Buses are very crowded during weekends. Some pics shot during my visit last year. My friend loves posing in every photo which I hate. Try mirichi bajji when you visit the lake. Buy cheap coffee beans at Glenmorgan estate. If you are there on a sunday visit weekly shandy(sandai) to buy cheap spices from Kolli Mallai(Fire Hills) tribals.
Thanks a lot for the useful value additions.
One of the beautiful places- small and sweet- Visited it 2 years back
