2978 JP-ERS Marusagar Superfast Express left Kasargod at 23:42.

Plz provide a stop at Tirur............Itz a reqst

Mangala Express is in superfast category. There is more running time given for Mangala Express when comparing with normal express trains also. So stops like Tirur will not make the train late running.

Garib Rath, Jan shatabdi express are running below 2000 km on its trips. Basically these are running in short distance.
But in the case of Marusagar Express, Kerala Sampark Kranti Express, Dehradun Express & Amritsar Express, they are running around 3000 kms & also very less time for travelling from source to destination. These trains are getting good collection from their current stoppages. So any new stoppage for these trains will make late running of these trains. Actually, no new stoppage is needed. For such superfast trains, stops are given after a distance of minimum 75 kms. Only important junction stations are given below 75 kms distance. (Eg:- Shoranur Jn, Mangalore Jn, Vadodara Jn, Ratlam Jn etc...)
After the Electrification between Shoranur & Mangalore, EMU (Electrical & Multiple Unit) Trains will be started. These trains will be stopped at all stations. Also the frequency of EMU trains will be larger than the current passenger trains.
These people should understand one more thing. The train no 6311/6312 Bikaner Express having halt at Tirur. Why this train is not having a stop at Kasargod?

Marusagar Express Train No. 2977/2978 was running without a Pantry Car till May, 2009. A complaint was made by me in May this year for not having a Pantry Car in the train on govt. grievances portal www.pgportal.gov.in and fortunately my complaint was well attended to. A letter was issued to IRTC by the Railway authority allotting a Pantry car in the said train. Now I want to check whether this has been implemented or not. Can anybody check this and inform me please.

why the reservation is suspended for train no 2978 marusagar exp jaipur to ernaculam for date june 12 th 2009 ?

We want the train no.0167 and 0168 to be a regular daily train.we the people are facing difficulties to go to lokmanya or thane or pnvl to go to udupi or mangalore taking a lot of luggage.if train no.0167 and 0168 becomes
a regular daily train, people living in mumbai would be very happy. You have seen that as soon as train no.0165,0166,0167,0168 came into running the third day it was a waiting list.it proves the importance of the train.please take a quick and strict act on it.

This is the most scenic train that you can take to get from Jaipur to Kerala. The coastal stretch is passed during the day time and its a pleasure to travel this route, any time of the year. A must do for a leisurely, scenic travel.
The downside of the train is that there is no Pantry Car and the stations on the Konkan Railway (from Panvel to Mangalore) do not have adequate refreshment options. It becomes especially difficult if you are traveling with children.
