In 1A ticket you generally dont have the seat Nos. written. If it is confirmed only teh word confirmed will be printed on the ticket. Seat nos. can be known only in the reservation chart.

First AC tickets are issued by a mere mention of the word 'confirmed'. Actual allotments of coupe - berth nos. are made at the chart preparation time and which will be available only when the chart is out and displayed on the Station platform and pasted outside at the coach door.

Most likely you will get a 4 seater "compartment" within the 'coach". The coach refers to the whole 'bogie' and compartment refers to the seating arrangement within the coach/bogie.. good luck, have fun, enjoy H! with good wishes.

There are 2 or 4 berths in a coupe i.e a enclosure having facility to close the door. A coach has many such 2 berth and 4 berth coupes. You will most probably be allotted one of the 4-berth coupes on preparation of chart.

"4-berth" does not mean coupe. You cannot say "4-member-couple" or a "4-member-pair". coupe = 2.

Actually I don't know the exact word. Can you let me know what is it called for the 4-berth enclosures in 1AC and 2AC and 6 berth ones in 3AC and Sleeper class excluding the side berths.

6 berths in 3AC: bay
compartment as opposed to coach. Coach refers to the whole bogie.. I hope this helps.

I appreciate your view. But can you explain direct means what(NON-stop).Tell mr is a stop at Kathua/Chakki bank justified when a train misses Ambala the biggest station en-route and also a division.
The train should be scheduled to stop at ambala in both the directions.

If it is a direct one then why it is having a stop at Kathua ,Chakki bank and Ludhiana . Let me tell u kathua city has a population no more than 4 lakhs whereas Ambala Cantt. railway station serves to as many as 50 lakh people.. Since ambala is a major hub of railways that is also serving to its state capital Chandigarh which ALONE has a population of 15 lakh , and has also the maximum no. of people that travels in luxurious train like rajdhani...
