Train Blog<--- expand blog --->To the webmasters: What is the data based on which you have arrived at the average delay for this train? I am a bit surprised, because it seems you have used the data of the fog delays and missed out on the normal on-time arrival data - not blaming you, may be you had no access to RT data! @first blogger: there were two problems in january - one was fog which delayed trains much more beyond time schedule & there was also telengana problems due to which trains were delayed. south trains coming were delayed during that time -gt, kerala were also delayed. kk was not affected much due to telengana problems except when it was very severe. mas route got affected more. thats the reason for so many reds in arr/dep history. You have to check your pnr for seat no from any of the method available and just goto your seat, there will not be any problem because your seat no will appear in the chart available with TTE. @first blogger: your ticket was confirmed & seat will alloted you at the time of chart being prepared after that you can see you seat no hi yoday i have to board tamil nadu express at 22:30 it was PQWL 15/PQWL 15 when i booked today(09- march) it is wl 11 will i get seat @first blogger: post your pnr no for analysis PNR: [[210-3336458]] From: New Delhi/NDLS To: Chennai Central/MAS Date of Journey: Fri Mar 05 Class: Sleeper Passenger 1: RAC 28 (Booking Status: W/L 47,GNWL) Chart NOT Prepared hei mine is RAC 28 for today's tamilnadu express on 22.30hrs .. ill the ticket be conformed @first blogger: 100% cnfermed w8 for chart pripar Please make the TN stop at Gandhiji's Sewagram and Lord Krishna's Mathura. It is an insult not to stop at these 2 important places. I will approach the court. Train stops are not determined just by religious or patriotic importance. The two stations mentioned by you are important no doubt, but other considerations just as potential demand, station distances and availability of other trains also are important factors. I respect your opinion, but I don't think TN Express is insulting Lord Krishna or Gandhiji by not stopping at those stations. May Lord Krishna bless TN Express. @anon: Sep 14 2009 (02:37AM) Then Tamil Nadu Express must stop at Mathura, which is an Important Junction and District Headquarters.Sevagram is also an Important stop.So we must provide stops. @anon: Sep 14 2009 (02:37AM) Also,Tamil Nadu is the state with the least number of Krishna Devotees.Even the smaller and less populated nearby state Kerala has many devotees. @first blogger: haha please do file a petition in the supreme court of india if u want and let us know the outcome.. Come on blog sensibly please Why Itarsi? Why should a superfast train like Tamilnadu Express halt at Itarsi. It has so many other halts. You must have known that earlier Tamilnadu was stopping at Itarsi which was in fact an unscheduled halt. Tamilnadu runs at maximum capacity eventhough Itarsi (as a halt) is not considered. If people from JBP want to go to MAS, they have other trains besides Ganga Kaveri, like Sangamitra, Bagmati, Gaya-MAS Exp, and so on. They have so many alternatives. As I suggested on Sep 2, at 04:54 p.m. Itarsi halt should be deleted from the list of stoppages of Tamil Nadu Express. Yep. Another useless halt is Gwalior. Even Agra shout be cut (ppl can take GT Superfast) coupled with WAP 7 at the helm. What we get is 70+ km/hr average speed and near on time performance between MAS and NDLS. The Tamilnadu Duronto will start from 14th September 09. You need not worry about the stoppages for Tamilnadu express. You can travel in Duronto and reach Delhi. TN will be degarded once Duronto satrts. Initially Duranto will run only once in a week. so TN will retain its position. In case you need less stops, go by TN Sampark Kranti - it has very less stops and reaches similar travel time of GT. Tamil Nadu Express can run with WAP-5 and WAP-7. Isn't it? By the way Tamilnadu will run much faster with WAP-5/7. @anon: Sep 05 2009 (07:05PM) Stupids, close your mouths.Itarsi and Gwalior are very important stops and they are big Junctions.Only Durontos never stop there. There needs a Technical Change for all the trains except Durontos at Itarsi. So it is an Important Stop.Don't cancel both stations.Otherwise,I will chop both of your heads and burn it in the fire. Provide Mathura,Tenali,Ongole,Nellore and Gudur stops. there should be a stop at ramagundam as many travel to chennai daily. Isn't GT,Sangamitra, Navjivan(from Mancheral) enough for people from ramgundam to travel to chennai. These are the daily trains i have mentioned there are of course the others weekly's that pass through the route as well .Let at least this train remain a super fast. I agree it is a superfast, but having stops @ ramagundam,Mancerial,Bellampalli & kagaznagar, AP Exp taking 24 hrs to reach N Delhi, same as Tamilnadu, them why cant it have a stop in RMD Let them please travel in GT express. Or let them watch Tamil Nadu Express whisk past and dust Ramagundam at MPS. lets leave it to the rail ministry to decide this I am scheduled to arrive in Delhi by this train on Sunday morning at 7 am. I want to catch the Shatabdi for Kalka at 7:40 am next. Do you think this train will reach in time? It will be risky! keeping in view the current weather conditions, it is highly risky. it reaches sometimes, at times there is a delay of 15 to 30 mts which are not even announced in the platforms or announced with delays increasng every 15 mts. bettr look out for other options. @anon: Oct 31 2009 (12:26PM) Please note the spellings: Mancheral is misspelled as Mancerial.Belampalli is misspelled as Bellampalli.Don't provide that stops and also Sirpur Kagaznagar, eventhough it is a Gateway to Andhra Pradesh while going to Chennai and a gateway to Maharashtra while going to Delhi. MPORTANT: This information is based on the OFFICIAL DELAY STATUS of this train. It has been observed in many cases that this official status is WRONG. Use this information at your own risk. If you know the actual status, please write in the blog section. Thanks. Sun Feb 21's departure from New Delhi will depart from New Delhi @ 22:30 on time Sat Feb 20's departure from New Delhi is running on time The train has left Balharshah Junction @ 20:00 2 hr 25 min late Expected Arrival at Warangal Junction @ 20:48 Approx. Distance from Warangal Junction: 61 km Current Avg. Speed: 305 km/hr Fri Feb 19's departure from New Delhi has already arrived at Chennai Central @ 08:4 @first blogger: lolz..avg speed 305 km/hr!!..wat a mistake...i dont understand..this train reaches chennai everyday about an hour late...y dont mamta slow down this train..its of no use this is very good train for Nagpur and Bhopal from New Delhi Delete Vijayawada stoppage. wait for some time and travel by Duranto to be introduced later which are non stop trains (except technical stops for crew change etc) from destination to destination. all train irrespective of type have to stop at bza for crew change. you cant ask for deletion of stops which are compulsory. i think tou people want the driver to drive you straight from chennai central into new delhi. Come on man they are also human they should take rest atleast after 300 km. They are not link you people who will have their meal and sleep in the birth, wake up at bza and ask for deletion of stop. i think this is the guy who wanted gudur stoppage and when he got everyones reply he is trying to create problems. Vijaywada is a very very imp junction. @anon: Aug 01 10:16PM jhansi vijaywada bhopal nagpur are very imp stn @first blogger: vijayawada is main junction every train must stop there @anon: Jan 25 (10:08PM) VIJAYAWADA IS A VERY IMPORTANT STATION AND SHOULD NOT BE CANCELLED. @anon: Jan 25 (10:12PM) yup. don't even dream of deleting that stop. @anon: Jan 26 (10:12PM) it shud be deleted as we don't want to eat rice made stuff. @anon: Jan 27 (05:12PM) you wil get rotis also in Vijayawada. eat and make merry. no need to stop this train at gwalior & itarsi itarsi being the only junction where all east/west/north/south bound trains cross through, deserves tamilnadu express halt. But even if it halts it should be a technical halt NOT a scheduled halt IS IT OK when there is a crew change and the train stops for 10 minutes, what's the harm in taking a few passengers. even if its not scheduled stop, technical halt will take upto 10 minutes. so there is no difference if its a scheduled halt or technical halt. [This might sound stupid but still asking...] BPL - ET is less than 100 kms. Why can't they have Bhopal (which is a technical halt too) as the technical halt? Is the engine is changed here (ET)? Gwalior too can be cut as it arrives at unearthly hour and there isn't much patronage (?). I believe they still can cut the running time by 40-60 minutes. WL,GWL and ET stoopages may be removed as there is no patronage. WL is where people have dinner (or breakfast for 2621). Pantry Car stuff are overpriced, not palatable and it sucks. GWL and ET should be cut. All tamil nadu express trains have ED waP4 from Delhi till it reaches Chennai. Then changing engines at Itarsi is not needed at all. Is there any other reason for its technical halt at Itarsi? Engines are never changed now. it runs through del-mas and vice versa. technical halts are for the drivers guards to change. as for gwalior stop, it was in existence from day 1 - it used to stop at Gwalior, Bhopal, Nagpur and Vijayawada with a journey time of 30 hrs when it was introduced with 13 bogey train. deterioration started when additional bogies were started and twin diesel engines hauled. initially it was hauled by a single diesel engine even after increase of coaches. the train used to come late by 4/5 hours. that condition persisted even after twin diesel engines. over period of time, stops also increased. once, after an accident at KAzipet outer where many coaches derailed (the train was travelling above 100 at that time) the speed was reduced. now 33 hrs has been made permanent so far. only time will tell if it can be decreased. can a 24 bogey train be hauled at the original time of 30 hours with steep incline at places? now rajdhani has a similar number of bogies as of original tn exp and is also roughly maintaining similar time. (28+ hours.) With a WAP-5 loco, the efficiency of Tamil Nadu Express also will increase as well along with the average speed. Jhansi kyon nahi? Gwalior kyon nahi? Warangal kyon nahi? definitely... Itarsi is a useless halt. I am fully in agreement with the fourth replier. What he/she has said is absolutely correct. There is no need to have Itarsi as a halt due to 2 good reasons: 1. Itarsi is a town. So it is obvious that sufficient patronage will not be there. 2. No crew change, no locomotive change is taking place there. Now, my request will be that kindly withdraw this 3-minute-Itarsi halt from the timetable of Tamilnadu Express. luk..tamilnadu stops at itarsi 2 facilitate ppl cuming 4m jbp side 2 chennai...in times when ganga kaveri is crowded...sum ppl take reservation in tamilnadu exp...and as far as traffic is concerned....the timings of tamilnadu at itarsi station has atleast more than 5 trains at a same time including guds trains....so it must hav a halt at itarsi ha ha this great train is 9 hours late today. wcam2 will never leave mumbai area :P Is WCAM-2P capable of pulling TN Express? ossom train to be travelled. very nice speed. and it reaches before time in chennai Are WCAM 2 engine fast? I am not happy with its efficiency. It often gets delayed inspite of being hauled by WAP 4 and having less stoppages. These days most of the trains do not arrive exactly on time as given in the timetable. What could be the reason? excess traffic and sometimes non availability of platforms. Mathura Delhi traffic has traffic jams and one can see trains one behind another. Stop cribbing!! even Rajdhani express trains gets delayed by an hour at times.. so if this train is late by an hour.. i dont think heaven will break lose on you.. Ocassionally it may be late due to caution orders and track maintenace.Yes i agree that heaven won't break loose show some patience. Can Have a Stop at Ennore Harbour or Thiruvottiyur like Perambur in Arakonam Route whyyyyyyyyyyyy tn exp does not go in arakonam route. tn exp does travel in that route but no one will board at ennore and the train will travel 400+ kms without stoping that is tn exp Sorry no more stops for TN express. It already has 2-3 stops which needs to be looked into and cut. Ennore is in Tamil Nadu we tamils strongly demand this stop or else all trains will be stopped. I'm from MAS only. Why do you need a Ennore stop for a few passengers? Going to north Chennai from MAS isn't difficult. NO MORE STOPS. u are not a tamilian therefore opposing this move,be considerate for few passengers and join with all of us in having a halt. Itarsi is the important junction and it deserves tamilnadu express halt. Irrespective of how important is ET, there isn't sufficient patronage to justify a TN Superfast halt. why bother abt this stop where it hardly stops for abt 10 mts. y are u fighting for inlcusion/non-inclusion of stop. it hardly will make any difference on such a long route. True, but when a train stops at more stations, more ticketless (or people with an open ticket) will board sleeper class coaches and ask to "adjust". More salespersons. More touts. More vendors. More hassles. Though it's only 10 minutes stop, the net time lost would be around 20 minutes. Amazing Train!! I travelled on 12th May 09 from Bhopal to Chennai Central. It reached Bhopal 1 hr 15 min late at 9.10 a.m. and reached Chennai 30 min late at 07.40 a.m. Nice train and eager to travel. नाइस ट्रेन... स्पीड भी आक्ची hai One of the fastest train in India other than Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Garib Rath trains. Always a pleasure to travel. Recently I travelled from Bhopal to Chennai. The train was late by 1hr 25min at Bhopal and reached Chennai 25 mins early! How cool is that?! It gets very high priority and I noticed that it almost never stop for other trains to pass (it's the other way round) and overtakes trains in front of it. But there's scope for further reduction in travel time. It shouldn't stop at Itarsi and Gwalior. Need to increase Tamil Nadu Express' speed as it is not fast enough. IT IS ONE OF THE FASTEST TRAIN OF INDIAN RAILWAY. disgusting.......hw much more fast do u want NICE TRAIN .ALWAYS EAGER TO TRAVEL This train on its introduction used to cover the distance in 30 hrs. once george fernandes came and introduced long trains & twin engines, the train never covered the distance in 30 hrs. It was always late by 4 - 6 hrs. so instead of maintaining the timings, they increased travel time by 4 hours and made its travel time as 34 hours. They also made it a daily train. At times this TN Express notched up to 120 Kph . If it is too late then the ignore the MPS and notcheh up to 130 or 140 f it is too late then the DRIVER ignore the MPS and notched up to 130 or 140 Because of Brand New Tracks made on Steel (If the track been Replaced) Don't you think that it is nice that Tamil Nadu will be the third most fastest after Rajdhani and Garib Rath. According to me it should take 32 hours to cover the distance between Delhi to Chennai. I have one more question : Is this train really stopping at Itarsi or not? Good train but dont understand why they have not kept more Cell charging points in sleeper bogies. Always one out of the two provided will not function and there is heavy rush to charge the mobiles or laptops. Railway should do some thing about it | Non-stop between New Delhi and Agra Cantt.Make sure to visit the official site and double-check the timetable.
