For AC 1st class, the seat numbers are alloted in the chart only. Just check the chart when you go tomorrow to board the train.

If it is a separate 1AC then there are 18berths and if it is partial 1AC (plus 2AC i.e.) then it is 10 berths in 1AC.
As for no pantry, it does not mean you don't get anything on board. IRCTC has arrangements for you to be served breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, etc., on board on trains. "No Pantry" means food is not cooked on board. It should have actually said "No Pantry car"" Good wishes.

thank you for fast reply. Good to know that I can get food. Coming back to the berths - you are are saying there are 18 respectively 10 - I guess this is the number per coach or train waggon. Are the 18 berths all in one room or are they segragated in smaller entities - say always 2 are in a unit (which I consider as a compartment) with a lavatory and you can close a door to the aisle?

To add to the details given by Mr Panda, the 1AC have 'compartments' of two seaters called coupes, and four seaters. Both have wash basins inside. There is a sliding door which you can lock from inside. Also provided inside is a calling bell for the train attendant. A drop down wash basin is provided in each compartment. The toilet with shower facility is located at the end of the coach/bogie. If it is 1AC with 2AC combined then your 1AC toilet with shower facility will be at one end only. In a full 1AC coach there would be four toilets, and in the composite one there would be two. Bedrolls are provided, and there is a separate area where you, if you want, can keep your luggage under the eyes of the attendant. Good luck and good wishes.

Udyan Express is about 20 - 30 minutes late usually - not more than that. So unless there is a special situation, 10 pm connection is safe.
Best way to go to Bandra is through the famous Mumbai Local. Catch Western Railway line from Dadar (Western) to Bandra. This journey will take you about 10 minutes. (about 30 minutes - walking to platform, waiting for train, etc.).
So, if Udyan is 30 minutes late, then you can make your connection. Warning: Don't be in too much of a hurry when you board the Mumbai Local. Wait till the train completely stops. Don't board or get down from a moving train, since the train accelerates very, very fast. Many, many people have got seriously hurt, boarding a moving local.

The procedure is as under:
If there is vacancy in 1AC, Confirmed passengers from 2AC may be upgraded. The vacancies thus caused by upgradation to 1AC will now become for confirmed ticket holders for 3AC. The vacancies caused by upgraded passengers to 2AC will be filled by confirmed passengers in 2SL. Vacancies caused by 2SL passengers upgraded to 3AC will be allocated to RAC passengers first in 2SL. The waiting list passengers will then come into RAC. All depends upon the numbers of people upgraded in various classes. Good wishes.

Generally there are lot of last minute cancellations. As your status is WL-7 it will be most probably confirmed as there are no RAC in AC chair car.

The Blogger was asking about the status having been shown at WL 21/WL 8 and at that status you commented as above.

A journey qualifies for circular ticket only if source and destination are same, which not the case with the above itinerary.

please check the timetable of the train for answers to all your questions. You should be able to access the timetable with minimum intellect.

if you keep on writing the same message in different trains its no use. you can check coach position only after chart preparation since railways do change position of coach and no one can predict the position.
frequent travellers have an idea since most of the time it is not changed, but if any additional coaches are added positions change.
if you wish to know your coach position, type your pnr number in indian railways website and know the same. but this facility is available only after chart preparation time - approx.2-4 hours before departure of train.

chek out the train status..

trains have vestibule which are interconnected. during travel request to copassengers if they can shift to S12. some people do adjust.

DADAR is a busy station and the schedule at the time you are catching th train is very busy due to whci usually there is no fixed platform
I suggest you to ne on foot overbrigde and check the platform number as the display system at DR is very good and there is very less chance of getting confused

You are having a margin of almost 1.30 hrs(considering that it will take 1 hour to go to airport from dadar and again half hour for check in).....You should be at Dadar before 9.00
You can take the risk...no problem.

i'm actually factoring in a much longer check-in time (security, baggage, airline counter) as most of the international departures are in the night time.....as long as i get to the airport by 9 pm...i think i will be ok

See boss..... on an avg....this train arrives 95% on time..... and never delays more than 40 to 50 mins. But if it gets delayed on that particular day, then you will be in big trouble. You have 2 options.....
1)Take a Volvo bus from Bangalore to Pune (11hrs journey) and then take a volvo again from Pune to Mumbai (4 hrs journey). e.g. If you start from tonight from bangalore, u will be at dadar at max 4pm tomorrow.
2) Take train No. 1014. You will reach at 3pm at LTT.
