Track is not electrified. this is shortest track connecting mumbai/Pune to Chennai, tirupati(hottest tourist desination in india), shortest track between Mumbai/pune And bangalore( route via miraj is 10 kms longer), shortest track between mumbai/pune and hyderabad, vishakhapattanam, bhuwaneshwar( route via manmad is 78 kms longer) , shoertest track between mumbai/pune lature, pandharpur, usmanabad, vijapur. This is due to a lot of single line tracks in this route. Railways should look at improving the connectivity between Mumbai and Bangalore. Plz be very specific in your question. @first blogger: my parents are travelling on this train and the latest is that they have boarded the train from Daund at 7 pm IST Why does 6529 Udyan Express take one hour to cover a distance of seven kilometres from Bangalore east station to Bangalore city junction station ? @first blogger: This is mainly because of buffer time which is added to the timings of the train to make up for any delays. For more detailed explaination on buffer time,please refer to blog # 19903. @first blogger: There are also other trains with similar situation. Gujarat Express/9012 takes 25 min to cover the distance of 5 kms from Dadar to Mumbai Central. Mumbai Local train covers that distance in only 4-5 min. So Udayan is not the only train. @first blogger: One more train which has a big buffer time is 2902 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Gujarat Mail. And if you board the train without buying another ticket, you will be treated as travelling without ticket and penalized accordingly. . If its an i-ticket or paper ticket, ideally you should be travelling in unreserved coach. It's a huge shame that there is no genuine superfast between Mumbai and Bangalore - all because there is no political push for it. Bangalore has a Rajdhani and a multitude of superfasts to Delhi, and will soon have a Duronto to Howrah. So, why can't IR introduce a Duronto between Bangalore and Mumbai with a running time of 20 hours or less? The fact that most of this single line is a huge excuse. If they simply combine the running times of the erstwhile Minar between Mumbai and Wadi and the Rajdhani between Wadi and Bangalore, a train can be introduced with a running time of 20 hours. Mumbai to Bangalore journey in Udyan express (6529) (express is indeed a mockery term) on Saturday 10th Oct 09 was a nightmare. Actually the departure time was scheduled at 08:05 in the morning from Mumbai CST. We came in hurry getting up by 4.00 am from Andheri to CST only to know that the departure time was scheduled to 20.15 hours in the night. The en query window was crowded and the staff showing no interest to explain for the delay. Senior citizens, children lot of passangers were cursing the Indian Railway. When the authorities taking the passenger contact number while booking the ticket, why not they inform the delay? Even sending a message is more than enough. They treat the passengers as taken for granted... Again went back to our huge luggage in the loaded local train. When we searched in net, the departure time of the 6529 train was showing as 08.05! When we contacted to station no body was there to pick the call. We came back again hesitantly in the night, fortunatle (or unfortunately) the train departed at 20.15 as rescheduled. But then started the marathon journey and stopping for the crossings. The delay was due to heavey raining in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and the train route was diverted from pune to guntkal via Hubli. The train use to stop in every stations for making way to other trains. At last it came to Bangalore on Monday at 11 am. (Actually it was scheduled to arrive on Sunday 08.15! So 27 hours delay!)The unfortuanet continues, at the Windsor manor bridge, hardly a KM away from Bangalore Jn. two youths were falling prey to the train... of course it was the youths mistake. But if the train came as scheduled, the tragedy might have avoided... Who knows? Generally speaking, 1st class: Non-airconditioned 4-person and 2-person private cabins. AC 1st class: Airconditioned 4-person cabins and 2-person coupes. Very expensive. AC 3-tier: Air-conditioned reserved coaches. 6-persons per compartment. There is a middle sleeping berth. AC 2-tier: Air-conditioned reserved coaches. 4 persons per compartment. No middle berth. Spacious compartments. And also please tell me which train is better to travel from pune to bangalore, udyan express or karnataka sampark kranti express, i mean cleanliness, good speed and less halts, thanks :) please conduct a search for all trains between pune and banglore. there are more than just udyan and sampark kranti. you should be able to make a judgement based on time, schedule punctuality and most important availability suiting your travel demands. food and cleanliness should be expected to be average on most mail and express trains on IR. Also conduct a search for blogs for the trains you might be interested in. you might find some interesting information with regards to travel experiences of passengers on those trains. Please help... Dr. Divyank V. You are cutting it too close......... In case you miss Udyan, u can take Koyna express which departs dadar at 9:15 am. Also remember when u will come from borivalli to dadar, u will be on western railway platforms at dadar. You have to come over to the central railway platforms to board udyan. Also keep your Garib rath tickets and udyan tickets on you so that you dont have to pay additionally for your travel between borivalli and dadar. I didnt exactly answer your question but none the less hope this information is useful too. Udyan arrives on platform 5 on Central Railway side. But it might be difficult to catch if Garib Rath is late. This arrival time is not true for UdaynExp 6529 which reached cantonment at 9:20am but in this site, it tells that it reached on time. what is HA1,B HA1 REFERS TO 1 AC COACH NUMBER. B REFRS TO 3TIER AC Sirs, I believe the reply at 10:38 Am on May 10th has gone wrong. H indicates - 1st AC A indicates - 2nd AC and thus HA indicates - combind coach of 1st AC and 2nd AC (have both the classes in one boggie) HA1 indicates - 1st AC cum 2nd AC coach no. 1 (normaly such combined class coach in never more than 1 in a Train). * 'B' here referes to the cabin No. B (Otherwise yes, 'B' refers to coaches of 3rd AC). - S. Jain i stand corrected. thanks mr jain this train is the worst train i have ever travelled in.....pls railways get up and to do sum thing about the number of halts.pls the railways could reduce the number of halts.and increase the speed.and reached banglore quicker..i think the train could reach banglore easily by 6.30 a.m. though journey is tiring i enjoyed it....this is better for mum-bglore rather than bglore-mum journey....of cource we get disturbed by beggers and hijadas in second class but we have to bare it....regarding many halts i will say something positive, it is the most convenient train for villagers to reach their destination....it is easier for them to updown... i think the avg. speed is much more than 52 km/hr top speed might be more than 52km/h but avg. speed seems ok. The most tiring train. Could be great if we reduce some stations & train is given priority. From pune to bangalore it takes almost 21 hours. If managed properly journey time can be reduced. Bugger........ Come 192 kms from Mumbai to Pune in Train... And then Come RUNNING........ It is just a train and not flight.....
