Solapur-Jalgaon survey has been done (via Tuljarpur-UMD) and it is shelved by railway board. You know how much time it takes to complete ongoing project for ex. Lets see how many times the train has to change directions. Kurduwadi, Latur road, Purna/parbhani (not sure) , Manmad. Instead you coud have the two sets slip coaches (one set from latur and other for solapur, merge at kurduwadi and route the train via daund. In due course of time another set of slip coaches from miraj via pandharpur, could also be added at kurduwadi. So Kurduwadi could be a point for trifircation of the train from delhi to three points in MH. Kurduwadi latur, and kurduwadi miraj lines are brand new and hardly any traffic as yet. so finding a common ground should not be a problem i guess Distance between Osmanabad-Pune is shown as 258 km for Latur-CSTM Exp. and for Hyb.-Pune exp it is shown as 259 km tell me if both trains are running via same route then how there is difference in distance railway tracks are not like road on which difference is observed so there should be no difference of 0.1 km also @first blogger: Good for your mi-nute observation. Note that kms are no where stated in fractions and it is rounded off. The two trains referred to in your post, both are originating from a different stations and hence decimal rounding difference occuring at some such distances. Some such instances you will find on other sections of the rail network also. However difference is only one way that is no difference when travelling from Pune to Osmanabad (both trains same distance kms 259) and this is bcoz of rounding off. Do not be surprised and be prepared for a situation where you find difference of kms (even 1 kms) between the same two stations egs. from Bandra to Surat and Surat to Bandra in some trains. does the engine of this train have to change direction at Kurduwadi? @first blogger: no, not necessary i asked to one of raiway official why Kurduwadi-Osmanabad passenger not extended up to latur then he said thar it is actually Pandharpur-K.wadi paasenger ment for peoples doing up- down between pandharpur and kurduwadi but in afternoon session this train standing as such in Kurduwadi for 4-5 hours so this train extended up to Osmanabad and it can not be extended up to Latur as it require further 4-5 hours if extended and such long time can not be adjusted in the schedule of the train so this train runs only up to Osmanabad @first blogger: what is your point? @anon: Mar 01 (03:03PM) i want to clear why this train runs only up to Osmanabad and not why not up to Latur one blog was posted regarding this by one blogger Mr moderator in your site you mentioned train no 1341, 1342 ,1344 as Kurduwadi - Barshi town and Barshi town- Kurudwadi passenger but no any such train exist in between Barshi - Kurudwadi instead of this there is Kurudwadi-Osmanabad passenger running mon-Saturday Arriv. at Osmanabad 15:40 and departure 16:00 evidance for this is time table mentioned on Osmanabad Railway Station so please modify @first blogger: This point has been brought up before. Thanks. @moderator: Mar 01 (03:09PM) ok i will post the time table details this train as early as possible i have one suggestion as this train arrives to LUR at 7 am and standing as such for whole day then we can run it again up to Pune as Latur-Pune express and if speed of train kept same as hutatma or intercity exp then this train can easily cover the distance in 5-5.30 hours from LUR to PUNE and from pune to lur in same time and this train will come back to latur before 2 hours to departure to mumbai and this time is sufficient to make this train ready to go for Mumbai suggested time table is dep. 7.40 am from Latur and arriv. 1 pm at pune and dep. 2 pm from pune and arriv. 7.30 pm at latur major halt during journy is of 5 mins and that should be Osmanabad and for other stations it should be 2 mins this train can be run on the days when Hyb-Pune exp do not run i.e. Tuesday, Thursday,friday.Sunday think over the suggestion @first blogger: hey nice suggestion i agree with your opinion i appriciate your suggestion CR should think about this if they do so then peoples of Latur- Osmanabad will have better connectivity to Pune if we compare this train with Siddheshwar exp. then Siddheshwar even having 13 halts then also covers distance in less time as compared to this train i know distance covered by both train is different but Osmanabad - Mumbai and solapur-mumbai this distance is almost same then why this train require more time ( near abt 1 hr ) than Siddheshwar ? @first blogger: Travel time does not depend on halts alone. When i see that the facts are fudged or logi is poor then i make it a point to reply. lets take a few examples: There were so many tall claims about how diverting trains between pune and hyb via latur will save time .... if you check for trains between pune and hyb the slowest train is via latur. today some one bloggged, that the newly announced kop - hyb train is going to be routed via latur... thats false. there is no announcement to that effect. Nobody knows what route it will take. Or that speed on the latur track will increase with time.... the logic behind that suggestion was very weak... Then there is a guy/gal who keeps refering to pune solapur pune intercity as extenstion of indrayani express to solapur... which again is inaccurate. So if you are the same person doing all this then i guess i am replying to all your blogs. If you present genuine facts, logical stuff, i probably wont have to oppose you. I understand that ur intentions are good and u are all excited about getting good connectivity for that region, but that does not mean, its ok to pass on fictional information on the blog. this forum is to help travellers and not set the rumor mill rolling! At least there should be a connectivity of Newly started PARLI_PANDHARPUR train to INDRAYANI EXP from Solapur to PUNE_MUMBAI. Many peoples WL [almost 100] entered in S1 Bogie from LATUR USMANABAD BARSHI upto 0030am and started quarreling for accomodation with TC. After Kurduwadi a Tough TC made these people quiet and FINED many who were on General Ticket but entered into SL Bogie S1. Really worst experience I was boarded upto Pune which was expected at 0340 am, but till 0100am there was a chaos in Bogie. LATER TC Started his disscussion with some passengers. 1. How Bihari and Karnataka(Bagalkot) people fought for trains. 2. Why all Stations are far away from CITY on this route(i.e. LATUR, USmanabad, Barshi) due to politicians . 3. Why KONARK HUSSAIN SAGAR not diverted via LATUR due to PLATFORM LENGTH. 4. How a huge corruption took place during laying down this line. 5. Why not few more trains not started yet since its inception from OCT-2008. And lot more..................... Thanks to chaos on NH9 (Tembhurni-Pune) more trains on this section would be helpful. Pretty much all the stations along old Kurduwadi-Latur section are rebuilt but there is not a single passenger train to cater to these small stations. All new stations outside the city Latur - there is no way to extend the line towards Latur Road from old station. Osmanabad - It was added last minute. But this is best possible location without expensive grade work. Barshi - The station had to move because the old line along the barshi-kurduwadi road could not be converted to carry broad gauge line. (Though what a unique feature it was) If the line had enough traffic I am sure vendors will start catering to passenger's needs. With one daily night train and one tri weekly there is just not enough traffic for vendors. What is the distance between Latur Rly Station and Latur city ? This used to be nearest station for Latur on Hyderabad-Vikarabad-Parli BG line. When the Latur Kurduwadi line was converted to BG it was extended beyond Latur to connect to the Hyderabad-Vikarabad-Parli line. 7013/14 HYB_PUNE Started But problem to HYB passengers from PUNE. No food(even TEA) from Kurduwadi to Vikarabad. As all new stations are very far from main cities and no amenitites on stations.
