Since he left, Garib Rath has itself become Garib. Duronto is Mamta's idea. After she leaves, Duronto will become "Deronto". @first blogger: There are some other blog entries wherein they opined that Garib Rath trains provide very good facilities. Such as Bandra-Sarai Rohilla GR, Pune-Nagpur GR etc. The problem you mentioned may be in some GR trains. However, overall response is positive and encouraging as it provides AC class travel in the most affordable fare. An attempt needs to be made in the form of written representation to the Station Master with a copy to the Zonal Rly office. @Kapadia : Feb 01 (05:30PM) Some Garib Raths are well maintained - it is true. But, overall, since Lalu left, Garib Raths have deteriorated in quality. That really is a factor. If a minister gives a direct order to keep some trains clean and on schedule - then those directives are followed. For example, the Garib Raths are Lalu's innovation. During his time, if he received even the tiniest of complaints, he would have wanted explanations and remedial action, since his reputation rests on it. But, Mamta doesn't care much about Garib Raths. If Garib Raths go bad, people will remember Lalu, not Mamta. So she really doesn't care. But, she DOES care about Duronto. Her reputation rests on the Durontos, since that is "her legacy". You might think I am being cynical. But it is a fact. Its fully air-conditioned train. @first blogger: It seems there was some mistake in your entry while in irctc. The train is available and it has got 199 berths available on 22.2.2010. As the other blogger mentioned, this train has no 3 Tier Sleeper (Non-AC) coaches. The train is fully airconditioned. It has got accommodation of 3AC or Chair Car (148 seats available). trust this clarifies your doubts.I have just now checkd with irctc website. thanks @first blogger: This trains origin station code is NZM (Nizamuddin) to MAS (Chennai Central) and not anything else. Let there be a separate Garib Rath between Bangalore and New Delhi daily introducing sbc-ndls/nzm garib rath is a better idea, as it can take some load of kk express and Rajdhani. yes this is the better idea, but the route should be ubl, bgm, pune.. since there is only one train samparkranti is running.. When will Duronto be introduced What type of engine will be suitable for it? engine has nothing to do with the concept of Duranto which will be a non stop train (Except for technical stops) - put even a diesel and it reach the destination on time as it has no stops in between. Garib Rath a very good train. Railways should increase its frequency and also start new Garib Raths. A VERY GOOD TRAIN GOOD FOR STUDENTS... WHO WANT TO TRAVEL IN A.C. BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE ISSUE ITS NOT ON TIME EVERYTIME. PLEASE MAKE IT TO GO ON TIME RAILWAY DEPARTMENT. COACHES ARE OK OK... PIYUSH A very innovative approach - GARIB RATH SF EXP. All 3A and CC accomodations. The major disadvantage for CC is 6 seats per row and that of 3A is 75 berths per coach. This is OK, but few coaches contain 84 berths (9 coupes of 3x3x3 type ie side middle berth exists + 1 coupe of 3 berths). Basically ther is no plus point except that its fare for 3A (NZM - MAS) is 892, while that of any SF M/E is 1455. first you have to take bedding at a cost of 25. the meals are picked up at stations and sold at rates increased by Rs 10 - 30. for example, you will have a Rs 17 breakfast, which contains 4 small slice breads, i butter chiplet and 1 ketchup sachet. always run late, never attempt for any communicating train in less than 5 hr of its sch arr at the stations. Abhirup Just reached kammam at 2.00 o clock an awesome train... but coach J-1 is avoidable... speed and time accuracy are excellent... services are normal.. fulfill wish of high speed train along with AC, in little higher than superfast sleeper rates... would advise u to take your own food.. but still, an excellent train to travel... :-[Ankit] | Non-stop between Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra Cantt.Make sure to visit the official site and double-check the timetable.
