well, let's all just appreciate the sarcasm - that the Himsagar is a very slow train. It is a fact. Himsagar is meant for unhurried journeys like honeymoon, sightseeing, etc.
Mr. Nitin does not literally mean that he can ride his bicycle faster. When the train is going slow, then of course you can ride your bicycle faster.
Anyway the point is clear. Himsagar is a slow train. And whoever wants to travel in it should make a note of the above points. End of discussion.

As I said before, Himsagar is a train meant for sightseeing, tourism, honeymoon, etc. No one is asking to remove this train. This train has a different purpose. Every train has its purpose. Simply, this is not the train to travel by, when you are in a hurry. Take a novel or partner, relax, enjoy the scenery. If you are in a hurry, you will get frustrated.
As for the bicycle metaphor, I would like to address blogger#2, 2:25PM, pl. do not take it literally. It is a metaphor.
When someone says "sher e punjab", you don't say "babbar sher punjabi nahin bol sakte, kyonki woh jaanvar hai". It is called a metaphor, and you use metaphors to be more expressive with language.

whats the problem yaar....in Russia they run train from Moscow to Vladivostok which is some 8000-9000 kms and takes 7-8 days to complete the journey.

Well said, yaar. In fact, Russia has the longest rail networks in the world. Also, there is China, which is a larger country than India, and has longer train journeys. Without these 70 hour trains, how will people (especially poor people) travel from Delhi to Kanyakumari or Guwahati to Bangalore? Do you want them to pay expensive plane fare? Actually, the Sleeper fares in Indian Railways are very affordable to even the poorest people of India, and provide a relatively comfortable journey for 70 hours.
Although long distance trains exist in many other countries, I believe IR is the optimum mix of price + comfort.

Himsagar is a honeymoon train. Not for people in a hurry.

Honeymoon couple in a general compartment? Not the best way to impress your new wife! By the time you reach Kanyaakumaari from JammuTavee you both will stink like hell. Remember the all india rail fragrance...?! :-) So make sure you both carry litres of perfume!!

Try to get the results with Stn RDM & Stn KRR only for the date on wednesday for SL & 2A, you will get the results, dont try for 3A.

very good to know. If you want to spend time with your girlfriend or wife, then slow trains like himsagar are best, and rajdhani/shatabdi are worst. :-)

Well those who have time can travel by Jammu Rajdhani + Trivandrum Rajdhani and save abt 13 hours including a 5 hr wait at New Delhi.

BECOZ THIS TRAIN IS HAVING THE LONGEST ROUTE IN INDIA, COVERING FROM KASHMIR TO KANYAKUMARI, THE SENTENCE IS TRUELY FITTED ON IT KASHMIR SE KANYAKUMARI TAK BHARAT EK HAI.

It shows how the Railways waste precious time of the Public at LARGE. Undue stoppage at New Delhi for 60 Minutes and at Nizamuddin for 40 Minutes. From Arrival at New Delhi to Departure from Nizamuddin, it takes 115 Minutes. Yet excepting feeling sorry, nothing else.
Good you enjoyed, bad that most of others had to undergo such a long stoppage, worthless.

I have travelled by this train. Himsagar is more a tourist train (kashmir-kanyakumari) than for transportation. don't travel by this train if you are in a hurry to get to your destination.
