What you are referring to for 9037/38 or 9039/40 is also applicable to 9019/20 (Bandra - Dehradoon Express). In fact, these are decided keeping in view certain aspects when the train is intoduced, modified or extended. This train was initially between Kota and Lucknow only. Later extended to Ratlam towards Mumbai and than to Bandra. On the other end, it was extended to Muzaffarpur / Gorakhpur. If you see, you would find that at the stretch of 642 Kms. between Bandra and Ratlam, there are only 11 stops, including Andheri and Borivali.
