History of Mandovi Express
This train started by Mr. Nitish Kumar (Rail Minister in 1999) as Mumbai CST Madgaon Intercity. It used to run on the TT of JS. After 2001 Mumbai CST Madgaon Intercity train has been converted in Express train in monsoon by giving more coach and halts. In monsoon by seing the high priority of this express train, they didnt changed it again in Intercity and it renamed as Mandovi Express after the name of longest river in Goa. Its TT has now given to JS. Till now this train is running as Express. Its old loco link was WDM 3a/d of ED/KYN and after getting RSA with Konkan Kanya, both were given WDP4 of Krishnarajapuram(Now WDP4b of KJM). Later on both trains got ISO certified.

I have booked a ticket for myself in this train on 6th June. Now my grandfather wants to join me. So, can I add my grandfathers ticket on my ticket which is already booked or I will need to book his ticket seperately.
Separate & dont forget to utilize SS Quota!!
This is really.sick.....My Mother's Lunch Chicken contains a CHIPKALI......told to TT, But he just said,'' I will pass the complaint to next station.'' Train reached its destination,still nothing done. and on the other hand, my Mom is still vomitting and cursing me for booking tickets in train rather than booking private car or Volvo bus tickets as per their wish.

Oh sad to see this...I heard this is ISO certified train and things are like this...Lodge a complaint to IRCTC with all the travel details.
I took this train instead of Mao Js only because off fact that this train is awarded for best catering.
This is very surprising for this train as the services are excellent. Similarly, a Lizard was found in curry served on-board 12245 HWH-YPR Duronto which departed yesterday. A railfan has posted on Facebook.
Where could we complain in such situations?

How could this happen in this train sad to hear. Its catering services are d best. I think you should write a complaint to KR headquarters at Belapur.

I don't know much about "complaints of this nature" but if you really wanna go for it seriously then file a case at the nearest "CONSUMER COURT" against the responsible party and in this case it's the "INDIAN RAILWAYS".

!! On IRI I've always heard people singing praises for food/catering on this train..what a shocker
Oh my god this is ridiculous.. Mandovi is a award winning train known for its best pantry car and has won a ISO certification.
All the rakes have same pantry contractor.
Did you took a pic of that or not as a proff?? it will help to take action against the contractor.
Plz forward the complaint to irctc and other sources, a strict action should be taken.
I always use to prefer food on mandovi exp , but now onwards i will avoid it..

I suppose it could b the effect of heat.....n scorching sun..... I have heard about smoking EMUs in summers due to heat...The fuel cud hav got heated.

the fire caught in 10103 was bcoz of heat of sun. if the fire had reached at 5 thousand litre diesel tank then a big vispot was able. between ANO and CHI the train was as looking as burning train movie is taking place.
Luckily 10103 saved. if diesel tank burnted then full train was burnt.

If fire wud hav reached the tank then the loco wud hav exploded with the dntire train getting severly derailed due to the shock jump of the loco.... It wud have been worlds worst disaster....

the tank would have exploded only if there was a fire inside it otherwise it would hv continued to burn endless till the fuel was over ....morever diesel burns while its in liquid form unlike petrol and lpg whose vapours burn .....anyways big accident averted
