most probably from july 1st pallavan will be extended to kkdi,they have to put new TT between TPJ-KKDI....

they may give new TT...if at all RB is adement to extend Pallavan then it may take more months due to non-availability of maintenance @ KKDI

one chance is any advocate from TPJ can file a habeous corpus writ to high court madurai branch,regarding the extension of pallavan to KKDI should be roll back by railways,if HC issues order then SR will not extend pallavan until HC clears the stay order....

The only wrong trichy did is being in the heart of TN. Many trains being extended, now ultimately pallavan.
Still Trichy still doesn't have daily connectivity to Mumbai.
Even the extended Chalukya express was not routed via TPJ.
TPJ being one of the major stallion of TN shouldn't be neglected this much.

Am fearing of cholan and vaigai exp in future as they will lost their pride coz of chances of extension one of the invalid proposals TPJ-MAQ weekly to PDY via ML,what sin trichy people did?

i was expected TPJ-NZM via ML also TPJ-SBC ONT exp,restoration of Rockfort exp,but a great disappoinment for Trichy since am from delta town i share the same with trichy people....

TPJ-SBC is given in the form of NCJ-SBC daily via TPJ.....!!!!!!!

If TT gets change for Pallavan.. that's it.... it will completely lose it's pride :(

It is good to hear another daily train to bangalore city but extension of pallavan express to karaikudi is a worrying factor and even though karaikudi has a new train from chennai. The introduction of MS TJ exp makes a good view of rockfort exp between MS TPJ only.

yes. it is depty king of vaigai, it should not made to lose. my doubt is pallavan is 24 coacher so this extension is very difficult than to extend cholan(i am not saying cholan to extend but both train extension are tough that too pallavan is very very bad).

Cholan, I suspect PSK, will fall in line in due course and will be extended till MQ/PKT, another politically sensitive zone. The KKDI and PDY extensions suggest so.

No, I see an indirect message in the extension to Punalur. Is SCT GC going to happen at all? Definitely not in the next 5 years or maybe 10.

SCT-Punalur is just 40 km...but the tough task is there are hills and tunnels...but 5 years is too long...

Mr.selva he is correct. Sengottai - Punalur expected to finish in 2015 info by officials. in this condition also RM announce train in this route mean. just for a numbers in budget. It's just a formal budget by govt. soon you get interim budget in this financial year

The ghat section of the Punalur-Shencottah had to be taken up separately because of the sharp curves, steep gradients, and tunnels. The Punalur-Aryankavu ghat section has portions bordered by forest areas coming under the Thenmala and Aryankavu Forest Ranges of Kerala. So, environmental clearance is also a big issue, which automatically escalates the cost. Per a recent report of The Hindu dated Sep 22, 2012, the cost was around 375 crore and the date fixed for completion at that time was 2015, which is impossible now. Only the MG tracks have been removed so far. The project involves 20 major bridges and 5 tunnels. So, going by the track record of IR engineering team, it will be at least 2020 (optimistic view) for the project to see the light.

Extension of PALLAVAN to KARAIKUDI is not at all materialized . It's having rack maintenance at TPJ and difficult to Rly's. It is extended only because of political pressure .TPJ PEOPLE SHOULD PROTEST.

Absloutely they have to protest if they leave am sure trichy will lost it's pride in future while cholan TEN ICE would be extended to various destinations.....it's an alert for MDU people they wont allow their pride vaigai to any place....

he asked for daily day time connection from KKDI-MS via ML but they extended pallvan to KKDI as daytime connection so what is the use of introducing weekly day time connection to chennai via ML? two day trains to KKDI-MS!!!!

i don understand why two trains given to KKDI from MS...a small destination with two trains....instead of extension of pallavan this weekly should be given as daily from MNM....

Probably they wanted a day train but its so weird extending Pallavan of all-poorfellow will reach kkdi in late hours and leave early in the morning as theres no possibility that Vaigai will have a schedule change anymore

After we saw the budget what happened to pallavan could not happen again to any train in future i have an thought of train protection association for existing trains to save the trains from the word"extension",i hope it will work out coz after a 15 year demand of NCJ,KK district people's dream has been materialized now in the form of NCJ-SBC daily express,likewise opening of main line(mayiladuthurai-villupuram), i heard TPJ people protesting for pallvan's extension but it didnt created any sympathy,TPJ people have to struggle hard for rolling back the announcement of extension of pallavan to kkdi,a new train which announced for kkdi-ms weekly should be made daily and railway board should rollback the announcement of extension.....

mostly the TT will not be changed....will have same TT from TPJ in both directions...

This means, if extended, Vaigai, in its return jrny, goes to Karaikudi, as pallavan and Pallavan goes to Madurai as Vaigai.
The train name is Pallavan Express as per IR and NOT PALLAVAN SUPER FAST Express
