Trip Report for 3rd Day:
I woke up early in the morning @ 04:50 just to come to know that our train was furiously crossing through Manjuri Road.within few minutes it reached Baudpur & halted there for more than 5 mts...finally picked up speed & reached Bhadrakh flat 15 mts before time....enjoyed some early morning cup of tea @ BHC PF#2..All the other PF's & sidings of BHC were occupied by various categories of freights...finally a BTPN moved out of PF#1 to make way for 12802 Purushottam Exp bound for Puri. Sky was slowly clearing by this time & birds were enjoying their early morning time amidst chirping....The atmosphere was trully heavenly...but the arrival of Purushottam shattered the morning silence & by now our train was ready to move after stopping 17 mts @ Bhadrakh.

After Bhadrakh,we saw so many new tracks criss crossing us towards the Bay of Bengal Side..It shown us the sign that Work for Gopalpur Port is almost completed & Orissa is ready to to give birth to it's second Paradwip....after that the LP showed no mercy & throttled the speed upto MPS....crossed a few rivers in b/w & reached Balasore in flat 46 mts....Balaseore Station had more Dogs than passengers at such wee Hours...stopped there for schedully 2 mts...& started moving out

But no sooner did it left BLS,it again halted just at the outer..the initial horn style from the HWH WAP4 gave me a feeling that there may be a Chain Pulling...But I was not quite sure of it & decided to take a few snaps around...Local villagers also came out to see what actually happened...but after halting there for 11 mts finally the HWH WAP4 started moving out....& gradually picked up speed.

This is the big big problem in AC classes. Illiterates hold the "THE HINDU" upside down and pretend as if they are analysing the ecnomic situation of India. Either they sleep or do this news paper reading activity.

After that loco Pilot was in no mood to slow down & till Benapur our train did continuos 100-110 kmph...finally halted at Benapur slowed down near Hijili,crossed other tracks & reached KGP 10 mts before time @ 08.05.....but within 08.15,announcements were made that 12509 is ready to leave PF#5...But I knew dep time is 08.30 &it wont depart before that...So enjoyed Hot Samosa & a cup of Tea in KGP...adjoining Platform# was occupied by 38858 Midnapore Howrah Local...& beyond that LDH WAG7 hauled pulverished Coal BOXN was standing..Soon announcements were made for 12814 Tatanagar Howrah Steel Exp to arrive @ PF#4...But before it could arrive,our train left KGP Exactly @ 08.30....Tried to pick up speed after leavng KGP but took around 16 mts to cover 7 km(KGP-Jakhpur)...but after that it started blasting & crossed Madpur-Shyamchak-Balichak in quick succession....after that I went for a quick nap & wake up after 1.15...

Hr to find that Our train is getting into Loop Line @ Mourigram(MRGM)...Soon the Steel Exp(High Priority train for TATA) overtook us @ moderate speed & we started moving out & crossed Andul to reach SRC @ 10.25 @ PF#6.
At SRC,we met 15722 New Jalpaiguri Digha Pahariya Exp which was standing @ the adjacent PF which had quite a good No. of passengers thus unexpectedly shocked me that people from Far Hill are visiting the Ocean.
Next we move out of SRC,I closely observed the N/I work & thus trains moving towards SrC Yard were piled up one after the other including a few EMU's till Dasnagar...few among them were the Samarsata & Sambaleshwari Exp.Finally crossed the EMU Carshed @ Tikiapara @ reached HWH only 5 mts delayed @ 11:00 at the designated PF#9.From Liluah till HWH,we had a parrallel run with Vishwabharati Fast Passenger which took PF#8.
PF#10 was occupied by fully crowded 15235 Howrah Darbhanga Exp which left sharp @ 11:05 with a HWH WAP4.PF#11 was empty & Coaldfield was there in PF#12 thus obstructing the way for remaining PF's.@ 11.20 our train left with a Red Color HWH WDM 3A which was alone to take the load of this 24 coach train

Soon after leaving HWH,our train gained the momentum near Liluah & in the process crossed Bally,Belanagar & Dankuni in quick succession...Slowed down a bit before DKAE to give preference 32231 SDAH DKAE Local..while crossing DKAE I could see that the Easternmost terminal for the Dedicated Freight Corridor is almost completed & the redefined Goods Shed is almost complete.But as due to contiuous reversals I chad my berth on the wrong side & couldnt follow any crossing as we were given the Left most Line in HWH-BWN Chord..at MASE I observed that the new line towards ADRA is also complete & for that pupose two more PF's have been built @ MASE.Sooner it crossed Skahtigarh & reached BWN @ 13.43,left after 2 mts scheduled Halt.Then I decided to capture the magnificent Khana Curve but the coach attenders didn't allow me to open the doors So I had to wait for Railfanning..As...

p3230703.jpgp3230704.jpgAt Bhedia(BDH) we were made to pass via Loop as there was a train waiting in the Main Line,finally reached Bolpur Shantiniketan @ 13.53 left after 4 mts Halt...after BHP,it didnt had much time to pick up the speed as soon again @ PNE,there was another BOXN waiting in the Main Line so we were again passed through Loop....then slowly we started gaining some speed...
One can see that Electrification work is going on in full swing as the OHE poles are ready in the SBG Loop...

Then we blasted through Kopai & Ahmedpur Station but again passed via Loop Line @ BSLE.....I enjoyed the Door Plating now as there were no more Coach Attender's & TTE's & the speed of the train never seem to exceed 70 kmph...Also there were greenery almost everywhere in Birbhum so no Dust around which helped me to capture the pics without any problems...In the pics can be seen Cows obstucting the way for Four Wheelers in the State Highway just beside the Railway Track :P
Also one important information I came to know from the Local Vendors that Garib Rath/Karmabhoomi Exp once in a week will pass via RPH instead of AZ which gives them much more profit than regular trains...Also I checked their Official Card issued by Hawker's Association,ER which gives them the permit to sale items inside the train...

Next we were approaching Sainthiya Jn @ pretty good speed....one can see at a far off distance that the work for Electrification is already completed in the Sainthia-Andal Section which is already operational near NTPC,Bakreshwar.After electrification completion Coal Rakes can enter with WAG7 Loco's from Jharkhand directly to NTPC,Farakka & Cahalgaon

Now contrary to my thought we were blazing past Sainthiya Jn...one can see that a BOXN is again obstructing our view to the SB of SNT..The Guard of the BOXN can be seen communicating in his walkie talkie to the ASM,SNT
Freight traffic has increased manifold in the SBG Loop Section because of too much demand of power from NTPC NFK...Almost every station there was a Coal Rake carrying Coal from various places such as Talcher,Australia,Jharia etc etc....

yes thanks for patiently reading...as per the Schedule 12802 should have arrived BHC @ 01.18 but it arrived around 05.35..so that means it was running 4 Hrs 17 mts late..sorry I didnt notice it that time thanks for notifying the same...but the speed at which 12802 entered the loop line @ BHC just left me speechless & mesmerized :D
It disturbed the birds also who were enjoying the morning sunrise to the fullest joy !

yes I agree 100% but I think this train is delayed b/w ALD-MGS....just like Brahmaputra Mail...it doesnt depend whether its Mail/Exp or Sup Fast in that time slot ALD-MGS 6 Hrs journey is quite common...12802 & 14056 runs almost back-to-back from CNB-MGS..& talking about prestigious & patronage yes Purushottam is the premium train & it gets a shining SRC WAP4 instead of TATA WAM4(though the train doesnt touch SRC)

finally we reached Rampurhat @ 15.21 after a delay of 1 Hr 1 mt i.e., the train which started only 5 mts late from HWH is now delayed by 56 more mts thanks to passing via Loop Line for freights..But I really liked this portion of the journey...:)

By the way instead of 20 mts scheduled halt train waited for only 2 mts so straight away delay was reduced to 43 mts from 1 Hr 1 min :D

yes normally it gets HWH WDM 3D,which according to some school of thought is apppropriate for 24 coach rake...but i think at least a WDP-4 is required for this mighty all important train...but then SGUJ is donating all its WDP's to ECR & NER..so not much left for its own children :(
That's why 2nd EMD home is coming up @ MXN,NFR
& HWH PF#9/14 is totally inefficient....it cant hold one more loco then drivers cant see the home signal also it exceeds the Foul Mark

Even on 21st March the best coach(B6) belonged to CR....I wish I could have taken a photo but the coach was glittering like a marble....Although my coach B1 was clean enough & no bedbugs...in fact I was satisfied with overall cleanliness But Window Panes were definitely more clear in the B6 coach..

ya i saw this cr coach on the thursday train , its so unfortunate that nf railways coaches are in these condition whr as other zone hv so nice coaches, on my train i think B3 or B2(NF) was a 2012( july or aug) manufactured coach but still dis one was better and i remember it to be 2012 feb manufactured coach ... but honestly the mismatch doesnt look good on exp/sf trains .. though passengers and goods are full of mismatches ..

atleast they r latest as feb 2012 manufactured,in udyan,karnataka,rajkot and gorakhpur exp though starts from bangalore itself r very filthy,ugly and trashed with cockroaches,bugs though very famous trains but infamous for its unmatched problems
