It follows the Shalimar- Santragachi- Kharagpur- Jaleshwar- Rupsa- Jugpura- Betnoti- Krishnachandrapur- Baripada route of SER/ ECoR. The stretch between Rupsa and Baripada is unelectrified, due to which this alco hauls this train.
