16315/15,06315/16 must be provided a commercial stop at KYJ which will be very much helpful to the people from KYJ,MVLK,CNGR. This train can share the TT of 16321/22 exactly. Being a junction, KYJ deserve a commercial stop for this train.

16525/26 are the only daily exp via ktym to SBC. An additional stoppage at KYJ for 16315/16 will suffice the need of many passengers from the above mentioned stations

Frankly speaking 16315/16 is better than SF in this stretch as its having pretty good TT with less stoppages (ideal one for SBC-ERS/KCVL travellers)..your demand for stoppage at KYJ is valid though but should not start the spree for further stoppages at Kerala there by competing with Island and similar trains...

But as i remember good number of people take this train to ERS and further go by Vanchinad express towards KTYM/MVLK/CNGR which helps a lot. Do you think still that a stop is needed at KYJ?

A stop for this train at KYJ is highly justified. The train after Kollam stops only at Alleppey but however is held up for almost 40 mins in Haripad for crossings. A stop at KYJ will help pax from Mavelikkara and Chengannur as well to travel to Bangalore.

By stopping at KYJ at 6.40 towards TVC(16315), passengers can take venad exp at 07.00 am which is 10/20 mins towards MVLK and CNGR. KYJ passengers also get benefited.
In return all other exp with enough stoppages(KYJ,HAD,AMPA,ALLP and SRTL) will take 3 hrs 15 mins average and this train also takes same time with just one stoppage at ALLP . It will be stopped at HAD for almost 30 mins for crossing jan shadabthi and Ernad exp.

As i remember, Vanchinad express used to cater for ERS-KTYM passengers coming from 16315 and a passenger train used to cater for KTYM-ERS stretch to help in catching 16316. People are pretty used to it...A stoppage at KYJ should not initiate the series of stoppages later there by making this as one more island express..

The problem for this train is being an express train it shares slot with 16322 which has stoppage in most of the stations you mentioned....An aggressive TT will help this train a lot to cater for end to end passengers than adding more stoppages...

Ashok.. For e.g 12257/58 was given a stoppage at mavelikara and that did not trigger further stops and protests na. This is just a myth. A pass through train with good slack can actually stop and not make people shift train,

What does the 400 in the pic indicates?

This is also a high speed zone for trains orginating from TVC and zone of speed gaining for those from KCVL... A good place for Railfanning to hear the chugging of WDMs from KCVL :)
If there was no Humps, then the 3AC upper berth person will have to crawl to his berth :P

Every place in KL is rail fanning spot. I love to travel during day time from CBE - ERS - TVC route. Of course, not in summer.

I gotta tell you Kerala is a zillion times better than A.P when it comes to Temperatures.Never seen places recording 40+ in Kerala,i sure expect it to be humid but here it's really a nightmare!!I would gladly settle down in Kerala somewhere close to the mountains or next to the beach in a small neighbourhood :) and Kerala receives the Monsoon first and foremost so it's great, really!

Kilometer marking is not like this as it will be indicated in small posts and not this much thickness

In all probability , the figure 400 indicates the slope of the gradient . Not sure though , but it is certainly not kms , from ANYWERE , Roshan .

Ground level signs on a concrete slab base, with a number and an upward or downward pointing arrow, indicating a grade. A number '500', for instance, indicates a grade of 1 in 500. Black on white.
.
The arrow is often simply a 'v'-shaped mark instead of a full arrow symbol. A similar sign without an arrow and an 'L' instead of a number indicates the end of the grade.
.
There are some newer gradient or incline warning signs that are not on the ground as the ones described above but fitted to poles or catenary masts. They are usually yellow with blue or black arrows (although some blue signs with white arrows

have been seen) with reflective paint, indicating upward or downward gradients; a double-headed (bidirectional) arrow is used to indicate a level section. The difference between these and the ones described above is that these are placed about 500m-700m in advance of the gradient they refer to, whereas the conventional grade indicators described above are placed at the point where the gradient or level section begins. The gradient indicators on catenary masts are also often accompanied by signs advising drivers to power up for the gradient.
