this is also a three coach DEMU running between Karwar and Madgaon on the Konkan Railway

Why they running like this? Although there is huge rush on buses in these routes. Even this train runs in full load near karaikudi.

Authorities take too much of time in increasing the coaches. On board survey is conducted upon requisition from public/organizations, Income generated in stations enroute is taken into account before introducing additional coaches.

sir, I think it is running on the time of old mg train nagore-kollam fast passenger. May be it become regular after completon gauge converson in these routes(manamadurai-virudunagar and punalur-sengottai). Am I ri8?

Chances are there that after gauge conversion this may get restored or not. Earlier during MG time, there was a day train from Mysore to Mangalore, but after it became Broadgauge no day train:(

yes. i agree sir. many trains in villupuram -mayiladuthurai section not restored after gauge converson. In my father's young age he was in mayladuthurai. he say lot of trains but today they r nt present.

sorry, there's a rule that not more than one train or something like that. i heard about it a long time. i maybe wrong. it delayed the starting of the train between maq and sbc...does it ring a bell?

Oh ok, you are talking about that Hassan-Mangalore rail development company which was formed for this purpose. This came into existence after the MG line was closed for conversion to BG. So during MG era there were no restrictions, after it became BG, there was a clause which restricted passenger train movement to maximum 3 trains in a day. Now also tri weekly day train and two night trains are plying in this route.

I agree. I was in Tiruchirapalli-Mayiladuthurai belt during my younger days. There used to be many trains both during day and night times. There were trains reaching important stations like Thanjavur, Kumbakonam etc, both during morning and evening times, benefitting both students and office goers. Even small stations were very active. It is true about many other routes in Tamil Nadu, as well. Now, that kind of passenger service has gone. It may be due to Rlys policy in between, to take care of long distance traffice only.

Yeah, you are right. That is why I was trying to say that this maybe the reason for not having a MYS-MAQ train.
There is something very interesting about MH Railway (MG). It is probably the only railway line in the world which lasted for a very short time. It started operations in 1979 after some 10 years of work. In 1997 it was closed for conversion till 2007. So a line which too 10 years to build lasted only for 18 years.

actually all train which start's with 0 consider as special so goes in the special train list weather a express or passenger or jan shatabdi. if u go to update timetable of train you can see you can either select a category as special or pass, exp not both

But fare wise it has to be a passenger-anyway it has been updated by moderator and hence must be setting a guideline to be followed from now on. anyway 0 indicates a special so cateogory for fare is passenger
