hybrid.jpgI say because of 2 reasons
1. see Blog Entry# 734992-6, the first coach is a hybrid lhb ( a pic of hybrid lhb is attached)
2. many duranto are running hybrid lhb with duranto livery (like 12275/12276). so we cannot check jusy by seeing tht it is hybrid or not.

No one yet has produced a concrete and logical fact as to why that coach should be called a Pure LHB or a Hybrid LHB. The only point that these coaches do not require EOG; i.e. they are SG does not make them Pure LHB.

We presume that Pure LHB are Non-SG and hence require EOG (Other than WAP7 HOG's) whereas Hybrid LHB are SG and hence do not require EOG. However, nowhere one can find any technical document given by RDSO regarding the same.
So to frame a hypothesis that whenever I would come across a LHB Coach being attached with EOG would be Hybrid LHB and otherwise be Pure LHB would be quite imaginative.

Hybrid do have Dynamo, while Pure LHB dint have & in such case, EOG isnt required to powe CC/ACCC Coaches (just not 2 AC but all lighting & fan working in D Class coach too gonna run by EOG)!!
The rake of this train with EOG suggests non-dynamo equipped coach!!
Now, Pure LHB do hav dynamo or not, that others may decide!!

I am so so surprised to see you arguing on vague terms. Your only basis of commenting is that someone here had said Hybrid LHB has only two kind of liveries. Is this anywhere said by RDSO in any of their circulars? Why do not you focus on other technical aspects like being done by others in this very same blog. Please do not try and hit around the bush.
Thanks.

I am just not doing that
I know the technical aspect, but I expect that all my queries will be answered by this blog.
I cannot see any doc from RDSO regarding any livery of any loco or coach. so clearly RDSO is not managing the livery, so why should i search for any doc from RDSO
also, we all know that every type of coach and loco have a special livery (in most of the cases, except cases like duranto and GR), so that those can be identified by just seeing it. wen i say that H-LHB have a special livery, i cannot see where am i wrong?

1. Your very statement that the concerned coach shown above is H-LHB should carry some more technical backing other than merely going by just one visual assumption.
2. " wen i say that H-LHB have a special livery, i cannot see where am i wrong?"
You are factually correct without having any technical reasons.
3. "if you can show me any other livery, that'll be great."
The question in concern is not how many liveries H-LHB has but rather if the concerned coach is of Pure LHB make or H-LHB make.

Buddy, DRNTO isnt a livery but pasted sticker, nothing more than that!!
Its only that the train which run as SF now was defined as DRNTO earlier & hence the DRNTO Sticker get pasted!!
Now, within that sticker, LHB/Hybrid may stay. U r forgetting one aspect as this Rake is been powered by EOG not Dynamo, which is an important aspect of Non-Hybrid LHB Rake!!
Further, LKO DRNTO too have DRNTO Livery coaches (on ICF Coaches)!! So with Livery (DRNTO Sticker), can we define that Rake as Hybrid LHB???!!!

yes, duranto livery is just a vinyl coating on coaches, nothing less
and a rake is LHB or hybrid, this cannot be told by EOG (as per my understanding, which may be wrong), as many LHB rakes with less ac coaches can run with only one EOG
and i hv nvr travelled in LKO duranto, but ALD duranto is Hybrid LHB coaches

As of now a rake is LHB or H-LHB can be told by EOG since LHB dont have SG and rely on EOG/HOG while H-LHB are SG coaches like SC duronto..No LHB rakes have SG yet afaik, all power requirements of ac/non-ac coaches of LHB rakes need power from the EOG/HOG so all trains need 2 EOG's although one may be off most of the time..

Assuming you meant EOG in place of OHE, the answer would be no.. ICF Rajdhani,GR and such other trains with a lot of electricity requirement(being totaly AC in this case) would also have EOG's.
.
You can put it this way, All pure LHB's need EOG's(excpet if HOG exists) but all trains with EOG's need not be LHB's :)

How to differentiate an LHB/H-LHB/ICF:
LHB
.
1. LHB would have FIAT bogies(axles and frame) and visibly different primary and secondary suspension systems compared to ICF bogies.
2. They have MR/AR(main and auxilary air cylinders) under coaches but the brakes would be DISC BRAKES, not a brake show assembly like ICF bogies.
3. You wont find battery compartments underneath the coaches.
4. Brake cylinders are visibly larger than that of ICF.
.
ICF:
...
.
1. ICF would have conventional bogies with an apparent difference in wheel and frame assembly compared to FIAT bogies.
2. Brake shoes visible beside the wheels.
3. SG equipment and battery compartments would be visible.
4. Brake cylinders are smaller and the undergear of the coach appears to be completely occupied.
.
H-LHB:
.
1. In this case the coach structure would appear exactly the same as that of LHB.
2. The undergear of the coach however appears similar to that of ICF bogies with SG equipment and other systems.
3. One major difference with that of ICF bogies and Hybrid LHB is the primary and secondary suspension systems which look exactly similar to that of EMU's, that is punematic suspension. You can hear air getting out when train is in a little bumpy ride :D

Depends on a few factors:
1. Does this have EOG/HOG or not?
2. Disc brakes or not..
Or a picture with a side view of the coach should do..It should either be a pure LHB or a H-LHB, as far as my knowledge goes there cant be a mixed rake..Ride Index issues will arise!!

This is some kind of unusual rake man, if this is having a FIAT Bogie with bolsters and primary/secondary suspensions of an LHB Undergear it would not be having SG..But going by your expertise, this would be a rather queer phenomenon..
.
Were the suspensions Pnuematic like a drum similar to an EMU?

Further specifications not available. I am reiterating whatever has been spotted by other railfans. You can initiate this topic at RCI, asking the individual observations of those who has seen this rake. I would presume Gaurav Virdi to be one of them.

as per the pics attached, the livery is grey with blue stripes. Till date, i have seen this livery only in H-LHB coaches. Now i know there is no technical observation to it, or any doc supporting it, but in my opinion, it is H-LHB

The EOG was @ end, not start of the rake!!
As the EOG requirement is single, with Rake Length & AC Load, Non-Hybrid SLR been attached!!
Further, provision of EOG for Rake comprising 2 AC Coach along with few D-Class coach, signify its pure Hybrid built. The one SLR can simply manage with Dynamo!!
All EOG Equipped Rake need not be LHB, simply coz ICF Coaches for Rajdhani/Shatabdi dont have Dynamo either & are dependent on EOG!!

Y to c the CC of Kathgodam AC Exp, which dont have EOG, as its Hybrid!!
Further, Its just a SLR u focus, rest u didnt read/think about!!
It do have EOG @ end!!
I wasnt aware that from LOCO, the discussion gonna shift dramatically to this way, else u would have the snap/video with EOG even!!
And yes, EOG was on with huge noice!!
PS: CC of this train too simply display EOG @ end!!

My question is for H-LHB, not EOG.
I appreciate your reply for eog, but if u can answer my query about h-lhb, and livery, that will b great

That SLR is hybrid, not the Rake, as EOG signified Rake to be pure LHB & small rake or less AC Coach can easily be supplied through 1 EOG, hence second EOG isnt required & so Hybrid SLR been attached!!

Actually this train 12241 which was started with great pomp & show is now facing problems because of the new track and is usually late.
The main problem is with the track some where near New Morinda, so much so that it was late by more than an hour due to technical fault in the tracks near New Morinda day before yesterday.
It is actually supposed to reach Amritsar from Chandigarh in less than 4 hours.

SAS Nagar to New Morinda (54 kmph) + New Morinda to Ludhiana (92 kmph)
Average of this two comes to around 73 kmph. So it is correct.

Please check intermediate stations, 54 kmph is only upto NMDA and NMDA-LDH is 92 kmph. In the end, the avg. speed of 73 kmph will be achieved.

Thats what im saying avg speed is only mentioned between two halts but not between intermediate stations, so why it has been mentioned 54? Since 54 avg speed is only till nmda and that is not a halt so better mention 73.
