I have read through the story.. Its fantastic. The writer says that there is a #pantry ca#r but is not meant for cooking for the passengers. Its only for the on board staff. Food for passengers is catered from the enroute stations...

BTW,anyone can travel in 2A..try travelling in SL that too in May,if you can survive for 4 days,then you may be declared as winner of the battle.

Im just travelling for pleasure and fun... It was my long awaited dream to travel in India's longest distance train.. Was planning atleast from past 1 and half years. But due to god's grace its coming now.... So im very happy...

I dont have any experience of 4 days..maximum 3 days 11 Hrs I've travellled continuosuly in September..followed by an Earthquake & 8 Hrs delay

I request you to visit at least the Manas & Kaziranga National Park.KZNP is located near Golaghat Distt,Assam.Nearest Railhead will be Sibsagar Town.Also kindly review the Bogibeel Rail-Cum-Road Project & inform all of us about the progress made of India's longest Rail-cum-Road Bridge :)

the maximum i have travelled is bju to jtj by raptisagar... 3 nights and 2 days...

Sir but be prepared...As I've heard that this is one of the dirtiest rakes in IR..Cockroach,Ant,Mouse everything is guaranteed...Also be careful while taking outside snaps because lot of Army People travel in this train & sometimes they get drunk &misbehave with fellow passengers.

I will post the pics and stuffs all through journey..... Really excited and waiting for the trip to begin.

Sir,I've heard one extra 2A is running,you can give a try & book in Feb...why wait for 4 months??

I just wanted to make sure that i dont wait and have 50-50 chances. So booked now itself so that i got my berth preference as well...

82 hrs journey OMG....we can genies record for the traveler. This is is more than Dubai or singapore from south india.

Air and Train or different if you go by air in this route it will take only 5 to 6hrs non stop

tomorrow from DBRG as Special. it will come back as exp from CAPE.

sir railway are too smarts if you talk about how many days it run you will see it starts at 23:45 on Sunday and reach Wednesday morning so total 4 days run.

Ya i know...but i am talking about the distance..not air or train travel.
Fours thousand odd kilometers. This is the first train crossed 4000 mark in india.

What i didn't like about this train is no stop at Renigunta and Bypassing VSKP.
From nellore to Katpadi non stop and no stop near famous Tirupaty.

No LHB rakes for this train.

DOOR EXPRESS sounds like the English version of DARWAJA EXPRESS :)

Should have made to run via Howrah, and not via Asansol and Adra... As there is only one pair of train between Howrah and Kanya Kumari, and that too weekly... Utterly disappointing..

If u have seen & telling according to the information given in this site...then I must say that some blunder mistakes are there in site....Dont go with Intermediate stations from this Site....In the first lap only from DBRG to NTSK(45 kms),this site has shown only 2 intermediate stations,but actually there are 5 stations in b/w.I dont know who has updated it.Doesnot have any information about N/E.You can imagine how many such mistakes will be there en-route.

Cape deserve a Rajdhani to NDLS

Agartala and Dimapur Rajdhanis train is badly missed.

12423/24, 12435/36, 12235/26 (NDLS-DBRG route)

Kannyakumari is not a capital , even not a district headquater.
CAPE station is a small station , have only 3 platfrom.
No train dep. form cape station at night expect CAPE - NAGELKOIL PGR .(dep 20.40 )
Most of train tarminate at NCJ jn. .some trains go CAPE..

This train superfast is better

Try to reach earlier than 7:00 Hrs, as there may be other people (travel agents too) like you who would be more eager to have an conformed seat...
My advise try to reach around 5:00 Hrs...

But il be leaving from chennai on thursday at 5.30 pm... Train will reach there only by 6.50 am

If you have someone, may be relatives, perhaps they can help you...
or better leave over god and try your luck... :)

I have decided... Il put everything on god and i will book tatkal ticket... Il reach at 6.50 to cape and stand in queue... Rest all left to god....

Or are you looking for someone who can successfully book a Tatkal quota ticket for you in this train for journey on 13th?

It should definitely be possible, provided the person booking the ticket has the passengers' ID card details and is willing to make the payment through his Credit card/Bank Account

yes im looking for a person to book of geting my ticket.. if i stand in queue at cape at 6.30 wat are the chances of geting confirmed ticket???

Dont know about the situation at CAPE for Tatkal ticket booking.
I think you will have to be in queue little earlier than 6.30. Since the date of your journey is on a weekend, you can expect good demand for Tatkal tickets.
For added chance of getting a CNF ticket, you can look for someone who can try for tickets online and you can stand in queue too.
