Passengers on-board the Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Superfast Express (12813/12814) experienced the comfort of their homes in the train on Saturday.With the addition of new and improved facilities on the popular Steel Express, the passengers travelling in the AC-first class compartment were more than satisfied with the debut run of the train from Tatanagar."With the addition of the high-end facilities, the ambience of the compartment underwent a sea-change. The railway authorities need to be lauded for this," said entrepreneur N K Singh, who boarded the Howrah-bound train.The Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway has laid quality floor rubber mat in the coach and mosaic tiles on the walls of the toilet, besides liquid handwash soap and tissue paper. Hauled by a brand new 22936 WAP- 4 of TATA (Tatanagar) shed, the 12813 Howrah (HWH)- Tatanagar (TATA) STEEL Superfast Express thunders through the Up reverse line of (most probably) Bauria station on SER's Howrah- Kharagpur stretch enroute at over 110 km/hr, and meets our Howrah bound Midnapore- Howrah Fast EMU.
It was a memorable catch for me, as this loco was undergoing the final stages of assembling when I visited CLW (Chittaranjan Locomotive Works).
