The electric locomotive is dual AC/DC, while the section is fully AC. Guess this is utilization of spare Dual locomotives ...

any news on what the future holds for WCAM/G's after CR too is fully AC? Will work as spare locos,scrapped or upgraded/reworked on?

from Monday i am travelling in this train and till today i had see only one locomotive with this train and i.e. BL WCAM2P #21861 balwant
I think that after conversion of CR in fully Ac....then all Wcam1 locomotives should be scrapped due to their age and All Wcam2 and Wcam3 should be made pure Ac...
as they are not very much old...

WCAMs will comtinue their services. Still a long way to go. The WCAM-1 which started off in 1975 are still serving so I guess WCAMs are here to stay.

even i had spotted that there is some problems in WAP locomotives....
I mean wap locomotives jyada bigadte hai as compared to wcams...
and i had spotted that many times when wap locomotives are found to be dead....then only wcams come to rescue it....
so although wap are faster locomotives but strong are adequate are wcams only..

If I am right WCAM1s with WR are now converted to run under AC only guess also we had a snap posted of it also some time back..

Yep that's true...ya 75% of Wcam1 locomotives are converted into Pure Ac working only by eliminating dc components and they are specially have rainbow livery
WCAM1 #21819 21820 21848 21850 etc are yet to be converted in pure Ac loco..
and i saw both 21848 21850

i.e. darkblue light blue dark blue with yellow lining...
