Today did some research regarding the earnings of this train and got these results..(these all results exclude the earnings by wl passengers)
1)approximate sleeper class earning was found to be rupees 361400 (out of ten sl bogies i multiplied rupees 500 as the per pax fare of 8 sl coaches and multiplied 300 rupees as the per passengers fare of the rest the 2 coaches which are for the intermediate pqwl and rlwl halts...
2) the total 3ac earning was found to be 2.25 lakhs
3) the total 2nd and1st ac earning was about 3 lakhs..
The total earning from the reserved class was found to be something around 8.5 lakhs per one side
This train has wtng of 800 in sl class so think how much rail earn from this train.
Bro i think u didnt notice that i didnt add the earnings by general coaches and waitlist passengers in the total earnings and i also assumed the diesel expenses to be 3.5 lakhs which is more than enough coz it uses diesel engine only upto lucknow which is almost half of the total journey... all the trains together bear the "another expenses" like staff,maintenance and manufacturing expenses so u cant say that this train is bound to bear all the expenses alone....please use ur mind before commenting or else dont cmnt..

It will be more, as this train runs with aprox 300-400 WL in sleeper class and in Generals approx 200-250 pax per coach
Thats wat i was saying that whats behind that much high operating cost of railways that even after a train carries pax twice the its capacity railways runs in loss....i think some kind of investigation should be done to find these hidden secrets....
ye sab sirf dikhane ke hai, mai to har train me dekhta hu TTE collects 10000-25000 from unreserved pax almost daily in each train going towards Bihar/ Gkp. Magar wo paisa kaha jaata hai. For this I am going to tell you an incident. In 2010 Oct, a day before Diwali I was onboard Sampoorna Kranti Express. That day JS and Magadh both were rescheduled. and all the rush came pouring in for SK. I saw a bunch of TTEs approximated 10-15 of them surrounded by pax getting blank paper ticket of SK to travel in SK. each coach had around 200-250 pax and I estimate the collection that day from that train would have been around 2-2.5 lakhs.
To bhai baat to wahin aa jati hai na ki railway ghate me kaise chal raha hai...because kisi bhi train me capacity se teen guna zyada passengers thuse huye hote hain aur 2nd aur 3rd ac ka fare plane jitna ho gya hai phir bhi railways ghate me chal rahi hai...

Booking for premium tatkal opens at 10.00 am.. Plz correct me if I am wrong. Because I tried booking in PT quota MFP-NDLS doj 24-june in 3ac, time was 40/45 sec past 10, and it showed NOT Available.
Tatkal and Premium Tatkal for AC class tickets starts at 10.00 AM and for Sleeper class starts at 11.00 the previous day of depature of train from originating station

Prior to DAT, vaishali was a MG train.
In 1977 time table train Jayanti Janta 153/154 used to run from MFP-NDLS . Later when train no were revised to 4 digits it was 2553/2554 and name changed to Vaishali Express still running between MFP-NDLS. Later in mid 90's it was shifted to Barauni ( exact year i don't know ) as a great demand from SPJ division. That time half of MFP commercial was handled by SPJ and half by Sonpur Div.
It was the opening of BJU-BBK BG section which made Vaishali run through NERs own path than ER path.
