kyu ki woh ald ke baad trains ko grahan lag jata hai.
In all festive season, this train runs packed.
However, running all time packed is not the solution, i think. Some seat should always be vacant so that people can avail the facility at last moment, Not everyone can plan journey in 4 months advance.

There is a facility called Tatkal for last time planners.
Actually there is no need of having tatkal sewa. IR should develop its infrastructure in such a fashion that train on the route should always have some seats vaccant ( may be 5 to 10%).

Because most people plan their journeys in advance. You cannot expect 50% of the seats for tatkal quota.

And you have more than what you want. More than your proposed r5-10% seats remain empty for the convenience of passengers according to you in trains passing through DTO.

That really good to see. I want to share my experience:
1. wanted to book on 1 Apr 13 for DOJ : 2 Apr 13 - NUQ to NDLS - booked three tickets in all class ( 2A, 3A, SL), not a single got confirm. ( 12873)
same has happened with me number of times in this train.
Kolkata Ajmer, Santragachi Ajmer Howrah Bhopal, Saare jahan se achha exp: all have same slot people do not want to board all these train in night. SUrprisingle, UP and down both of all these trains passes through this area in night, which might not be the safe for passenger of remote area due to non availability of transportation and availability of naxal activist .

Ticket did not confirm in 12873 ? Strange......my 3AC ticket in 12817 got confirmed on the date of journey.....booked same day.
The main reason could be the very less quota for these stations.

Next time, book from Ramgarh Cantt. It will cost you extra but will get confirmed berth as quota for HTE/RNC/MURI/RMT is more compared to your station.
But when i change the boarding point to NUQ, the scenario will change. and will come to W/L. If I dont, I cant board the train at Ramgarh which is approx 200 kms far from NUQ.

Dear, book your ticket from Ramgarh to Anand Vihar and boarding point NUQ. Who is asking you to change boarding point ? It would be NUQ only but berth from RMT to ANVT.
