Only 24 hrs for return ?
AC express will have halts. these halts mentioned below suits a Duronto, not an AC Express.
I like it bhai. Coromandel had similar journey time (25 hrs) when it was introduced and had stops only at BBS, Khurda (tech stop), VSKP and BZA.

I know that. tat's y i said, it suits Duronto's timings. if it has to b AC Express with halts, it will take more than 26hrs or say around 27hrs max.

AC Express Can travel till 130 and Coro Travels till 110......Coro Onlt takes 26 Hr 25 Mins So Easily the AC Express Can Cover in atleast 25 Hrs if not 24 Hrs.

No the train Will have Excellent Patronage, People can buy Food from Howrah Station, Morning Breakfast from Viziangaram/Duvadda Station, Lunch from Vijayawada, Evening Snacks from Gudur station and Sit Comfortably in the train and Sleep at Night.
So atleast it can go till 120 only, for a Journey of 25.5 Hrs.
For that it have to Arrive at MAS at 20:10 Pm Nearly.

And i think it will be sharing its slot with shm mas sup exp.

Why no trains prior to 6 AM? But it is good policy followed. In IR there are trains departing between 2 AM - 4 AM from source stations. This is highly ridiculous. Anything over 5 AM is ok. Thanks.
5am in summer is still manageable. but if one considers the case that for boarding a train at 5am, you need to get up at 3am-315am. get ready by 3 45 and leave home at 4am to reach station by 5. also public transport at 4am is tough to manage. if one stays in suburban stations, its almost impossible. hence the time set is 6am.

Yes, I have given 5 hrs between OGL and MAS as, I think, the train can not cover the distance in 4 hrs.
Dear that's slack. 4 hrs is more than enough. MAS is one of best terminal where there is no need to slow down of train before 10 km from station.

OGL for 12842 was actually introduced as loading point for food. later it became a commercial halt, but 12841's loading gets done at BZA it self. so, its better it runs non stop til MAS.

tragic is that i updated the info here in IRI. well, mail and coro losing what they are known and famous for. it will get some quota which will ultimately be snapped from some other intermediate station quotas making the WL situation worse.
No offence, but wahan ka demand hi aisa hain!! Every train needs to b stopped at certain station. even the Raj isn't spared. just the Duronto is saved due to its concept.

Going by past trends. It had 2 stops in Odisha to begin with, BBS and Khurda, a tech stop. Then in the space of 36 years came Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, Brahmapur and now Jajpur. The 3 stops at Cuttack, BBS and Khurda are over a distance of merely 47 kms. Almost once a year SORO observes a RAIL ROKO FESTIVAL demanding stoppages for all trains there including Rajdhanis. The stoppage at Jajpur will provide a great impetus to the movement at other places.

A new set of rules pertaining to halts in respect to distance cap should be introduced.Intermediate stations don't benefit much anyhow with the amount of berths provided from the overall availability.

What's the use of running LHB coaches when the trains will run like fast passengers in future? 160 km/h will be next to impossible.
It will be better to give ICF CBC coaches to those trains as they are cheaper and have the same anti-climbing feature of LHB coaches.

Last week i have seen chennai-Ghy exp OMG there is no relation between GEN ans sleeper. I think better they remove all sleeper and replace with gen coaches in this route.

That's right. It was HWH MAS and SHM SC AC Ex but the former by passes VSKP and hence, the result might not change as said above.
Another option to reach MAS but look at the demand to a train to TPTY.

CSTM-MAS/SBC cannot have more train as most of the route un elctrified and single. But this is not like that na.
It will be filled with VSKP pax in between.

Yes, it is the most neglected route of IR along with CSTM-MAS/SBC routes. IR should seriously remove some halts for Coromandel (like Ongole in up direction and Bhadrak). They should increase the frequency of SHM MAS Express so that it could serve the removed halts of Coromandel. If possible, the primary maintenance of Coromandel and Howrah Mail should be shifted to SR.
Ongole stop they may not remove.
even madras mail also has worst condition as it has more stops then coromandel
Then both trains (Coro & Mail) maintainence will be screwed up like anything already SR is really struggling to maintain its trains...
But SER's maintenance is pathetic :(
