In fulfillment of the announcement in the last Railway Budget, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the extension of Puri-Parlakhemundi passenger train to Gunupur from August 2, 2011. The timings of this train in both the direction between Puri and Parlakhemundi will remain unchanged. Puri-Gunupur passenger will leave Puri at 07.50 hrs and reach Parlakhemundi at 18.45 hrs. It will leave Parlakhenundi at 18.50 hrs towards Gunupur. Yes. Even I was wondering whether this is pure slack time or not. I tried to match the schedule of trains passing through MLT and PURI. Couldnt find out any other alternatives.

hi everybody. Thanks to railways to run a train upto gunupur. This was a long pending demand from gunupur residents. This will benefit all passangers especially for travelling for medical purposes. The roads are in very pathetic conditions. Hope some more trains will run from this station towards VSKP for catching long route trains. Connection to Rayagada in future will benefit the locak in a big way.
At present there is no proper railway station in Gunupur. There is no proper amenities and RESERVATION COUNTER will benefit the passangers.
