I'm lucky whenever i travel by this train it always gets GZB WAP-7,
11093 and 12141 were rescheduled that day to next morning 4 am, And at Chhanera (usually its either KKN/CAER) our train was overtaken by 12167 and one more train...

In April end i was anticipating that WAP-7 would haul this train from LTT itself but Alas! its still not happening, Hoping for the earliest DC-AC conversion

Some minor issues between CR and CRS, CRS said CR has not given them adequate notice and documents ad CR is saying they have submitted all requisite documents, reports, etc. and CRS is causing delay in inspection.

Yes no accountability at all, The conversion should really happen by this weekend as from first week of June monsoon will loom over the city which could probably again hamper the process and even the July TT needs to be designed keeping in mind the reduction of travel time...

i think it was done in stages.........first tracks were DC till BRC....every year they made small targets and converted the distance .unlike CR which converted the huge distances at one stretch.....
from IGP to Titwala in one strech and Pune to Badlapur in one strech.....now slowly CR is taking the WR method

Yes in parts but this process involves transfer of rakes as well, I remember sometime back it was mentioned that the conversion was delayed due to irresponsible attitude of RB/WR in transferring AC-DC rakes to CR (All this plays important part in the progress as well)...

True.... IR never upgrades its system. In IVRS if u ask status of 12052 MAO DR JNS, they call it 12052 Hubli Bangalore JNS... I am still wondering the connection between the two....

So, Here it comes my tiring journey from UMB to LTT. It all began two weeks ago when I was invited to a wedding which I had to attend. Thanks to this site I managed to use a chain from RDB (My report on that separately) however, I found that there was no useful return chain and hence had to book WL 7/8 which turned RAC upon chart preparation. I alongwith my brother had to return asap and the tatkal options were there but we chose to take up the train. We boarded and looked around to find at least 4 more RAC guys so our hopes of confirmed tickets were dashed. However, the TTE turned up checked our tickets and mentioned 'dekhte hai kuch to hoga, thoda intezaar karleejeeye'. I was surprised that even though another 3AC coach has been augmented my tickets still remained WL. Well more surprises...

in bag - This train is a pucca passenger viz. full entry all the time is sleeper, 3AC, and 2AC by almost anyone and everyone. Anyway, around evening TTE janaab paid a visit to me and asked 'aapka RAC hai na' and went back, he returned after half an hour again and same question - Which mean he wanted to have an 'adult chat' separately for which I followed him and his demands became clear. INR 200 per berth up for grabs, period. I being a little 'usoolo wala' rejected his offer and came back. Unlike me, my brother scolded me for being stubborn and went back and confirmed our tickets. Even though we had a confirmed berth now the guilt of being part of the stupid system is creating a stink within you as well. You somehow get over it but there is scores of people boarding and deboarding the train all the time. I just wished I could get the upper berth rather than the side lower. The journey is pathetic and should not be undertaken at all for long distance journeys. I somehow pity the sleeper class passengers who not only have to suffer the 40+ temperatures but also the swarm of daily passengers which board and deboard this train. We reached Thane at 3.30 in the morning and I must say I had no energy left in me (I had cramped feet and an upset tummy from the food we managed during the journey). My next link back to Pune was on Indrayani which was 3 hours away. I only wished I should land home somehow. A mention on the Indrayani Loco - a 3rd instance to find Erode WDM in charge ... Quite a offlink.

When there are 88 halts for this train you can expect this train to be most filled up even more than the Ultra SF's plying on the route
Btw end-to-end this train is not recommended (however people still take it) but it provides some useful connections from Delhi to all the places and yes always runs full or rather overflows...

Well, this happened in March. My parents were booked on Mumbai - Howrah Mail (via Allahabad) on 21st March for travel till Burhanpur (BAU). This train was delayed by 13 hours due to delay in incoming rake. I was at home and searched for current availability on the next train to Burhanpur and found that there were 5 seats available in 3AC on LTT Amritsar express (availability shown on indiarailinfo). My parents then approached the LTT ticket counter and asked for the ticket. The person manning the counter in the usual behaviour of government institutions employees didn't respond well and refused to listen properly or issue a ticket.
I complained to the railways by filling the online complaint form online but didn't get a reply yet. Your comments are welcome.

You identified it! I was on board LTT-ASR Pathankot Express. The train was slowing and I was at the door, to take some photos. High capacity parcel van's door is open and another train's board can be seen through it.

HPCV doesnt imply that its been attached to any train or not & may awaiting to b refilled!!
Further, if HPCV has gone, then it will return too, same as like empty freight train!!
PS: Mostly HPCV is attached in trains, which do have total coach count with 13-17 Coaches, excluding HPCV & they never create any cut-off for passenger service!! Exceptionally 24 coacher has been seen attached with one HPCV, making the rake length as 25!!
