Date of Journey - 30-Apr-13.
I would be arriving at RTM at 8 AM by 19382 COR-RTM Express. I intend to board 59393 at RTM for an UJN-bound journey starting at 8:35 AM (ETD). Should I book a reserved Ticket in advance for RTM-UJN in 59393 or is it okay to buy an unreserved 2nd Class ticket from RTM and expect an OK-type GEN journey till UJN?

This query is basically to understand how crowded GEN coaches of 59393 generally are between RTM-UJN. Are they "Manageable"?
I would suggest you book a ticket in 2S. Since it comes from Dahod and there are a lot of travellers from RTM, general can be a bit crowded. There is a CC too which remains empty till the end and the seats are ultimately used by railway employees for their short distance journeys or sold by tte to the last minute travellers.
Shahnawaz, just out of curiosity, I am writing this.
We lived at MDS between 1991 & 2000. Frequently traveled on MG trains between MDS-INDM, mostly Steam-hauled one. (Loved those days :-)). I remember, somewhere between 1996-97 (My guess), a large MG loop before RTM was constructed. (As a child, I didn't know why it was "suddenly" made). It was an absolute delight to see the loco and the full train from window without peeping out when the train crossed that loop:-) :-)
Can you please tell me: -
1. Why exactly was that loop constructed?
2. Before that loop was there, what was the arrangement? I mean, I guess the route functioned without it...

I also remember that loop as a child. But it is a distant memory. I had not travelled much on that line when it was MG. Sorry to say I won't be able to tell you anything about that, but will get back to you if I come to know of anything. I don't think it has has been retained after the gauge conversion.
