Halts is ok still its speed is pretty good and also caters important stations...Accept its maintainence is pathetic to say the least..

why it is happening only with trains originating from Eastern india(kolkata).
why not same thing is happening with TN express.
Poorva , kalka, Geetanjali these train will become fast passenger in coming days.

first train journey that i remember was in geetanjali from TaTA to DURG. and it used to have no stoppage between Rourkela and Durg.

Ise SER se maintain karna chahiye. ECoR is not doing good.

No bro, this train has RSA with 18409 sri jagannath exp, which belongs to ECoR and is maintained at puri.

ecor is nothing to do with gitanjali exp even it has rsa with jaganata exp basically if one originating stn (same rakes) has to diffent destinations then maintence is done at originating stn ,
example eastcoast exp hatia-"hwh"-hyd
coromandal/hwh- mas mail hwh-mas-hwh maintence at hwh

Another reason is the lack of MEMU services. Because of that, the Express trains are suffering.
IR should increase MEMU services to serve small stations.

for geetanjali , HWH Mumbai mail is alternative and for Poorva , kalka mail is the alternative, but here both Main hero has become sidekick

i totally agree but TN stops also increased from 5 to 9 and coro also from 3 to 10 . TN has a stop at itarsi due to crew change even mas-nzm duronto has stop at itarsi for crew change

Crew change can take place at Bhopal also. TN spends more time at BPL as compared to ET. IR can increase the halt time at BPL to 10 min in both directions and remove ET halt so that it could cover BPL NGP distance in 5 and a half hours.

SER doesn't maintain this one guess its base maintainence is at Puri...

AC Express will be introduced soon. Hope it is a daily train.

first tt should be good enough for ac biweekly otherwise it will face same situation of mas-shm bad tt.

for example the shegaon famos for some temple The Sansthan has made arrangement for free of cost meal which is consumed by devotee as "MAHAPRASAD". To the south of the temple lies a building where lunch is distributed on the ground floor to the devotees from 11.00 AM to 1.00 PM. The devotees queue up and enter the large hall where at the entrence they are served Mahaprasad. The devotees then go to the seating area to have a meal. Almost 2,5000 persons can sit in this spacious hall. Every Thuresday and Sunday "Special toor dal(Pigeon pea) preparation is served. It is belived that no devotee can be forced to come to this place and nobody leaves the place without Mahaprasad.

If the AC exp is given the time slot of hwh-ypr 5 day week DURONTO exp, it will remain bi weekly . otherwise there is a great demand on this sector for a daily

It has lost its charm from the time RSA with Sri Jagannath Express came in to effect the maintenance for the legendary train is really bad...

Agree time is not there at HWH but maintenance could be better,else it can be transferred to CR it has pretty good time for maintenance at CSTM...

all other trains are more waitlisted this summer than gitanjali express.

There is common concourse are for CST, and all facilities are there, No sp Platform, CST being terminal point.

I dunno the PF number, but its recently developed, which stays @ fag end of one side (when we move opposite & away from Local Trains' PF), after which parallel road arrives!!
This PF has the arrival of HWH-CSTM Weekly SF Exp & it got newly built Waiting Room (Retiring Room, dunno as all were in process of development, some 4 years back)!!

MUCH MUCH cofusing board of this train !
Sharing my mother's experience, She had a journey(reserved) from AK to NGP before 2 months. That day this train was running late by 30 mins. It came without announcement, when my mother red the board, was written MUMBAI-->HOWRAH-->PURI. So she thought it might be going to PURI. This train stops for 5 mins at Akola Jn. When train was in hault, she mobiled me and asked what to do now? There is a train standing infront of me which is going to PURI. Thank GOD, just 1 day before I red that Train Board, I said her to jump into that train, as train started departing the Platform..

At least SER can give LHB rakes for this train. LHB coaches need less maintenance.

RSA is not Problem, Howrah Mail Do not Have any RSA Still it is one of the Filthiest Train of SE including Coro, Madras mail, Adi SF Etc

There is RSA in Lokshakti Express, Avantika Express, Valsad Sonpur/Kanpur Express, Mumbai Indore/Jaipur AC Duronto, Bandra Bhuj Express/Kutch Express, Shanti Express Etc.
But Still They are Very much maintained and Clean

This Train Should be handed Over to WR.
After Dadar it can go to BCT by Tracks Which Changes B/e Parel and Lower Parel.
Also WR will get one Kolkata Bound train.
Maintainence and Service of WR is also Awsome.
It Will Break away Records of all Kolkata Bound trains.

WR is the BEST! Is the service and maintenance provided by SER poor? I know more about ER. So, pl give info about SER!

But, Geetanjali, CSTM Mail (NGP) were considered to be best trains of SER. I am amazed!!

My Friends Travel in Mumbai Mail, They Complaint about it. They say on Face of the Staff that Service of Jnaeshwari Expres is Far better than of Mumbai Mail.

I respectfully disagree. CR's maintenance is really good. If Gitanjali is given to Mumbai CR, train condition will improve. The on-board housekeeping agency BVG India (For CR Mumbai Division) does a really good job.

Yes I had bad experience in Coromodel. But I used to travel by Geetanjali and Jnaneswari (used to be full AC train that time) around 7 years back when I used to stay at Nasik. How about the service now?

My One Friend Anirban mitra Travels in Howrah Duronto. He Said to me that it was lacking maintainence.
And Then he Started Travelling PBR HWH Express from Surat to Howrah Since it was best Maintained train for Kolkata in WR

Same as Coro....Very bad Service.....I Always Try to get Tickets in Shipra Express, Even if tickets are Not Available, I go to Nagpur to Catch Porbandar Howrah Express

I am originally from Bengal, but have to agree that India's best zone in terms of maintenance and cleanliness is WR followed closely by CR and SCR.
WR has so many RSA still it maintains the coaches so well.
Look at GT mail, Gujarat Mail, Mumbai Raj/ AGK Raj/ even Lokshakti has sparkling clean coaches

Well i would vouch for SWR.. Their cleanliness is way too good...

Sad to see the downgrade of service in Geetanjali and Mumbai Mail (via NGP)! Most coveted trains in this region!

Why not? WR has trains like GT Mail, Paschim that travels for 1500+ kms.
Even a supercrawler like FZP Janata taking 2 days of run to reach Mumbai has better coaches than SE/ECoR maintained ones.

sorry to say but karnataka,udyan,gorakhpur exp,chennai mail r some of the famous exp for their filth,dirt and fragilely seats,other accessories equipped coached trains
better is WR,CR far better in terms of maintenance and hygiene

Bongs dont want dhokla and vada pavs. I am guessing. Anyways without deviating, yes its dirty. specially gitanjali. but having travelled by TN, KK, Coro, Punjab Mail, udyan etc, i didnt find them much clean either. Jnaneswari seemed much cleaner with is CR, but azad hind is quite dirty. I feel except for durontos, rajdhanis and shatabdis, overnight trains, rest all are quite dirty.

I would totally deny Chennai mail accusation. the coaches are neat when compared to any other trains in its genre. The old coaches are well POH'd. I used to take Mail every sunday night from BNC to MAS for the last 2 years.. so i can vouch for it. GKP exp is not SWR so i wouldnt consider..

Also, WR/CR generally maintains the prestigiuos trains (GT Mail, Punjab Mail, Vidarbha, Gujarat Mail, Paschim, Jnaneshwari) very well (at the very least). But look at other zones. Swaraj/ Coro/ Karnataka are so much filthy these days

So, this is the fact!! That is why maintenance is poor! I am sure SER is still doing good job.

Yeah,I have travelled in the Muri & Jharkhand Express & taken the taste of PC,really third class & worst services provide by them but ECoR PC service is excellent In Purushottam & OSK.

Those are Prestigious trains of ECoR so it They Will have good Facilities.

I hope that SER will be learn some lessons from ECoR in the matter of PC.

Many time i travel by this train. This train is nt at all maintained. No cleanliness,no hyginic food nthing. This train looks very much dull if any third person will see this train he will not belive that this a Gitanjali superfast exp.
CR trains are identified by its cleaniless,services etc.
If we will see the Janneshwari exp that is very much clean but the gitanjali exp looks very dull.
The rakes of the gitajali also looks old and dull no1 will beleve that this is superfast train i.e gitanjali.

As we discussed earlier, it is having rake sharing with Jagannath Exp. So ECoR takes care of its maintenance and cleanliness (rakes also shows ECoR tagging, source: myself). SER can not do anything except providing better cleaning and maintenance at SRC.
