This train is frequently cancelled due to lack of passenger except during season...likewise..it is cancelled today(20/06/2012) as per information from SM/Baktiarpur

Souvik, this is a passenger-cum-express train. Runs as passenger train from Rajgir to Bakhtiyarpur where it gets attached to 13040 Delhi Howrah Janata Express and theereafter runs as an express train from Bakthiyarpur to Howrah.

averege speed of this train is extremely good............for a passenger trains. even better than some express train like sabarmati.

Beware of travelling by Rajgir-howrah passenger, it's two sleeper class compartments leave from Rajgir and wait at Baktiyarpur Junction almost 12 hours to get attached with Janata Express train. So one supposed to spend whole night in compartment parked ungaurded at Baktiyarpur Junction. It is a nightmare experience! It will take on an average 24hours to reach Rajgir to Howrah
Janata Express runs slower than a bi-cycle... Average running speed is 20 to 25 km per hour and stop at almost every and in between station. Average delay is 12 to 14 hours per run.
Request to Railway Minister please reschedule the arrival time considering the running dealy.

No train by the name Rajgir Howrah CH (no. 43H40) ever comes to Jasidih Jn. Neither the website nor the Staion Enquiry is clear about the existence of the train. Through much bitter experience I learnt that two coaches of the train are usually attached to Delhi Janata Exp. (no. 3040). This important information should be given on the website, and rendered by any Railway Enquiry when asked.
Moreover, on 10 July no reservation coaches were not there on Delhi Janata Exp. Some RMS staff informed that the coach is missing for one month or so. If this is a regular incident, the provision for reservation on the train should be withdrawn. Otherwise passangers experience much harrassment and expenditure for no good reason.

I booked a ticket on this train for travelling from Jasidih to Chandannagar on 10-7-2010. It was an enlightening journey. I learnt the following few things, which would have otherwise remained unknown to me. So I would like to share them :-
1. The train comes to Jasidih (and Chittaranjan, and ...) with a different number.
Two coaches are usually attached to Delhi Howrah Janata Express in the front.
2. Train running information on the net shows 'No Delay' of the train till 7:30 pm.

I had this similar incident two years ago. I was searching for a suitable train from Jaisidih to HWH. Please be informed that Jaisidih is near Deogarh(Baidyanath Dham) which is frequented by Shiva devotees during the monsoon season.
All trains were fully booked, except an odd named train called RAJGIR HOWRAH COACH (that was the name of the train).
I got an i-ticket(5 passengers) for this train. When we reached the station before the scheduled departure, I was horrified to find that this train ws not listed on the Jaisidih Arrival/departure board. On asking the authorities, they denied the existence of this train. But other people told that this train is not an individual train but only two coaches are attached to the Janta Express.

Always Late. The boarding time from Jesidhi on 3.05.2009was 23:16 hrs., got late by 8hrs. arrives at Jesidhi at 07:11 hrs. on 4.04.2009.
how can u even thought of catching the train? aur koi train nahi mila kya?!
