Panto or pantograph is rod which connect loco to electric cable running above . from this train draws power and ac Current gets converted to dc and then motor runs. each loco has 2 panto , generally driver will use rear panto when train is moving , idea is if it gtes damaged , fromt panto can be used . but if front panto gets damaged , it has to be removed , so tat it does not foul with anything else like signal post or cable post etc ( thsi was inforedm by looc driver , once i asked him reason fro using rear panto insted of front pnato
