we all know that augmentation of coaches and running of special trains can be done whenever the demand arises, but extensions of trains on a permanent basis, introduction of new trains and other projects need to be announced in budget before implementation...then how come bgp mldt intercity express has been extended to jamalpur,despite being no notification for the same in the recent budget?
recent budget main nahi hai toh 2-3 saal purana announcement hoga.
Not sure , but i think sometimes the requests is sent to railway board and approval comes late. so we dont see those notifications in regular budget.
it was never announced...not even in previous budgets...2-3 saal pehle to ye train hi start hui hai...

But , it is for amenity of passengers , i see nothing wrong in extension
Well i can remember one train 14055/56 Brahamaputra mail. When i was a kid around 20 yrs back , the train used to go till Guwahati only. I use to follow this train regularly in bgp as this train used to be very prestigious train. Gradually when the tracks where laid beyond guwahati then within one year it was extended upto lumding, then upto guwahati and then upto DBRT after few yrs. No announcements were being made at that time from parliament . There would be many more instances when trains have been extended which has not been notified thru parliament.
There is another case of 12367/68 Vikramshila express which was silently on the verge of being extended upto Malda town. This was done in initial tenure of Mamata DIDI but because of lot of resentment from ppl of bgp...

भागलपुर, नगर संवाददाता : मालदा-भागलपुर इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस (13409/13410) का विस्तारीकरण जमालपुर स्टेशन तक किया गया है। आगामी एक जून से यह ट्रेन जमालपुर स्टेशन तक चलेगी। वहीं इस ट्रेन का नाम भी बदल दिया गया है। मालदा-भागलपुर इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस की जगह अब इस ट्रेन का नाम मालदा-जमालपुर इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस होगा। स्टेशन प्रबंधक इंदु कुमार व मुख्य यार्ड मास्टर डीसी झा ने संयुक्त रूप से बुधवार को बताया कि 13409 अप मालदा-जमालपुर इंटरसिटी सुबह 10:15 बजे भागलपुर पहुंचेगी तथा 10:30 बजे यह ट्रेन यहां से खुलेगी। इस ट्रेन का ठहराव अकबरनगर, सुल्तानगंज व बरियारपुर स्टेशन पर भी दिया गया है। अकबरनगर 10:44 बजे, सुल्तानगंज 11:02 बजे, बरियारपुर पूर्वाह्न 11:22 बजे तथा 11:50 बजे यह ट्रेन जमालपुर स्टेशन पहुंचेगी। अकबरनगर, सुल्तानगंज व बरियारपुर में दो-दो मिनट का ठहराव दिया गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि 13410 डाउन जमालपुर-मालदा इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस जमालपुर स्टेशन से अपराह्न 3:15 बजे खुलेगी जो शाम 4:25 बजे भागलपुर पहुंचेगी...

lol...train name changed from bgp mldt to jmp mldt!! When the train will originate from jmp,then it has to be jmp mldt...what to notify in this?

Extension up to Kiul was better option they had.
ya change of time table should be there . but what to do we cannot do any thing
agree...upto kiul wd be much more sensible...thanks to the platform shortage at kiul and unappropriate reversal facilities,it ended up at jamalpur...
Too many stops.
Kiul should be developed as a good station PF-3&4 height is very low and cleanliness should be maintained.Always dirty at kiul.

fare in 2nd seating class is being shown as rs.0...pls rectify it as there is one reserved coach of 2s as per availability status on official website
