Does IR give senior citizens discount in reservation class in passenger trains? Please let me know this.

This passenger has reserved coaches also. That is why I was thinking about concession.

BMTC, it seems MTP-UAM PAX has senior citizen concession for FC class. See this link /train/farechart/1086

I was looking for reservation availability in trains between Bhopal and Ujjain. For this particular train, I saw only FC and SL. Then I came to know that it is a passenger! My idea of a passenger train was a train with all 2S coaches. Wen I saw FC and SL here, I had a doubt that senior citizen concession may not be given in passenger train. So I thought of confirming it.

senior citizens do have discount in passenger trains too but in some trains depending on class of travel and kilometres travelled.

The above was a private message when I tried to clear the doubt of Mr. Jyotirmoy and Mr. Broad Gauge Sir. I am reproducing the same here:
SS Male Discount is available in some of the passenger trains. (Depends on the total distance to be traveled).
SS Female Discount is available in most of the passenger trains.

For both of the above, I am obviously hinting about the fare against the reserved coaches.

for the time being i should not say that there is no fixed rule. rather "i am unaware of the exact rule" would be more appropriate. may be mr. dipyaman basu could enlighten us further.

There may be a certain minimum distance criterion. Maybe Bhopal-Ujjain distance is less than that. Hence no concession here (I guess).

Choose any passenger trains having Sleeper and FC Class and which covers quite some distance.
Now go to the official website, select a pair of stations and try to see if senior citizen concession (Both for male and female) is applicable for the said distance or not.
This way you would get a rough idea.

i have checked on irctc the availble seats was 173 and in first class 18 so i m sure it has 4 sleeper and one first class apart from them 10 unreserve coach is doubt the info provided in wikipedia and same for indore bhopal passenger

i think 2 lauge van is not correct it should have 16 coach only

aap khud ho blog likh rahe hain aur admin ko sudhar karni ke ke liye kah rahe hain. lekin doosri taraf aap yeh bhi kah rahe ki I think 2 SLR is not correct. kripya poori jaankaari le kar hi updation ke liye apna blog likhe. aap kaafi senior member hain isliye aapse aisi galtiyon ki ummeed nahin ki jaati hai.

sanjay ji asked that 18 coach is may not be there so i replied since it is passenger for short distance language van may not be there. It could be there sin wikipedia it is given. apart from this other info is correct only sir.
