Ee traininum pinney island express inum WAP7 athyavashayam aanu.. WAP-7 is not for the speed. Its for better acceleration. This train has so many halts and needs to accelerate better so a WAP7 is needed. Kerala Exp also needs a WAP-7 however there are not enough WAP-7 yet with RPM so that they can give it to all the deserving trains.

even if it is SF, it doesnt mean it arrives on time
Being on time and changing into superfast are different issues
atleast running time can be changed since it is going through CBE .and Superfast trains run in time by 95-96% confirmed by railways.

Sir this is one train which has undergone a timing change from MAS atleast 4 times that i can recollect. if not wrong the days of my remembrance.. 19.35, 20.25 , 21.15 and now 20.45.

Yes it has undergone several changes Pramodh. One of the reasons for that is it initially used to precede the Cochin Mail (now Trivandrum Mail) and then later it was rescheduled to follow it.

Traveled only once in this train from MAS - ERS - MAS. during 1992 or 93. Went to KL for Guruvayur and Chootanikarai Bagavathi Amman temple, I went to MAS from SBC and joined my uncle and aunty from MAS. Don't remember where I stayed in ERS.

punkunnam and divine are the wierdest ones..punkunnam is just 4 mins from thrissur..divine is just a cuve away from chalakudi..and ern can be removed for 16042
I think these stops still remain because it reaches Ernakulam at office timings..
Regarding 16042 it also travels at a time when many office people travel to home..May be because of that..

Is 16042 Alleppey-MAS Express rescheduled today in view of AJJ derailment? Urgent.
Seems @ ERS it has been indicated that 16042 is slated to leave ERS only around 9 pm today. Any update on this train? TE is ambiguous.
Onward train to ALLP running late by around 9hrs. Not sure about rescheduling.If same rake is used, even 9 pm @ ERS would not be possible.
Shares rake with 12695/96 MAS-TVC SF.
Radar says it is not running at present, TE says waiting for start update, confusing. I have people waiting @ ERS who want to know if it is running to time, there is no proper reliable info, it seems.

Todays 12696 shud be cancelled as 12695 yesterday was cancelled.
Surprising to see this train is running. Looks like the empty rake came into TVC..
As per SR press release, normal train traffic restored in Arakkonam from 10.30 hrs today. But, trains which are already cancelled will remain cancelled due to operational reasons.
12696 runs with the incoming rake of 12695 and 12695 was cancelled from chennai last evening.. so surprising to see that the empty rake came into TVC.
16042 left ALLP at 10 pm .. so expect your friends to have a not so neat coach today.. 16041 reached only at 8.15pm..
Yeah, I have been following it after I had a stable net connection. Thanx very much for the update. They boarded around 2245 hours last night, reached KPD around 0845 hours today morning as per the last update I got from them. As of now, it is closing in on MAS. As you rightly surmised, the train was filthy it seems, understandable though.

I think with a lil more Zoom in Pic 4 it could have been updated as SB pic ... Now also its good so can we have Pic 4 as new SB pic ... It wud be great to hav a SB pic with P7 ... Admins ur views ...?

When do CORO get P-7 till VSKP from MAS.
I think the MAS - VSKP is suited for 130kmph and P-7 must be given to this train.

When do you expect HWH WAP7 till VSKP from HWH for Coro.? Buddy RPM doesnt have enough P7's once enough locos are allocated we expect this to run with all the prestigious trains..
SRC wont get P-7 in close proximity.
However RPM getting P-7's are expected to haul MAS Raj,GB,Duronto,TN,GT,CORO,TVC Mail.All these are highly prestigious trains than Alleppy Exp i guess.
Also the track which the above trains travels are capable to handle 130+.

With only 7 WAP7 u cant give it to all trains. Further WAP7 is needed for better acceleration and Alleppey chennai needs it for Kerala region due to higher number of stops. All trains like Coro and Raj are having les stops and a P4 is sufficient. Anyways chennai raj and duronto are getting P7 from other sheds so no issues..
