Great Manish Ji....but @ SPJ,there are 2 AS Exp...one is Avadh Assam(Lalgarh),another one is Jivachhlink Exp(Darbhanga)..which one did u capture?
Guwahati-Lalgarh Awadh Assam Exp..once i think it was a top priority train..

yes....that time it was called GL(GHY LKO) Exp....I dont've further information but still it's a Daily Train hauled by SGUJ WDP4 end-to-end with some excess halts...but punctuality is nice & always reaches GHY 45 mts b/t
please tell the pigeon to rely on its wings than the wheels of this train...
there used to be a gl mg express from shc to kir whuch connected this train...now gone after gc...

No No....speed is above 45 kmph...quite decent speed with so many stoppages & single line section...only reliable daily train to go to GKP & LKO...

Also Halts like Ekma,Mairwa & Bhatpar Rani can be removed...

But all the trains(including the pretigious Delhi bound trains from DBG,MFP & BJU) halt @ both Hajipur & Sonpur....moreover SEE-Chhapra is still Single Line
I think that's non-sense..Hajipur and Sonpur r very close to each other and is separated by just a river Son..I have seen plenty of pax of Sonpur boarding SHC GR from Hajipur.
Hajipur deserves the halt because its a very important city with plenty of industries and markets..Also its Patna-2,plenty of pax of Patna board trains from here but why Sonpur??

because Sonpur is the other side of Son River also close to GAnges...also DOubling & Non Interlocking work is going on b/w SEE-CPR...also the New Line from Patliputra will merge with Ganges North Bank @ SEE...So SEE halt is essential
torture to travel in this train, super crawler and very highly avoidable train
And to add to the agony, it has now been extended. My friend, who is a regular traveller of this train tells me that cleanliness levels are low, and even AC coaches are a host of cockroaches and rodents.

What do you mean by Original GM made sir?
Probably,the photographer meant it to be 'imported? I don't know,Rakesh.
GM n EMD had pacts before n most of the EMD's were manufactured by GM's. later the EMD got separated from GM n started to build locos on their own. the first GM EMD was WDM-4 which came back in retro age i.e in 1980's.
The first set of 10 locos starting from road number 20000–20009 were manufactured by the Electro Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors (GM) while road numbers 20011 upwards have been manufactured by Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) of Varanasi in collaboration with EMD and GM.

The loco in this livery looks awsome.
Initially all GM made EMD's were brought into Hubli (UBL)shed. This one also belonged to Hubli shed, later transfered to Siliguri..

After extension till New Tinsukia(as per Rail Budget) this train will have 7 different Rakes..Nearest Competitor from same zone is Brahmaputra Mail(6 Rakes)..Can u please tell me of some more long distant trains which requires a separate rake for each day travel(i.e.,7 rakes)...???
