My relatives had come down to my Panaji Residence for the holidays. It was then that we planned a two day trip to Murudeshwar, Mookambika, Udupi, Dharmasthala & Subramanya…
Back at office it was Audit time and getting a leave sanctioned was really tough. But God was gracious. Having readied everything for Audit and the CA team getting satisfied with more than 75% of the papers, my 2 day leave got sanctioned late on Tuesday Night.

The Super Fast King started dot after its scheduled halt of 10 minutes. The seats and berths which got empty in Kankawali and Madgaon were filled with Officer Goers and holiday makers alike. Great trip report part two and three.
TTE now came to our S 3 coach to check the tickets. As anticipated, he allotted the seats by taking the difference fare and issued us a valid receipt.
Another few minutes of a speeder run, again crossing but this time, it was the turn of the NZM bound ERS duronto to haklt while the SF glided way though a bit slower. I noticed that the ERS NZM duronto was pathetic looking with Duronto livered vinyl wrapping torn off either partially or fully from most of the coaches.

Yes..... we did went to Murudeshwar later on and it was amazing.... even a day is not enough
No.... its not reqd as its kind of ONT train.... and the rake is well maintained by CR....
It has On-Board Housekeeping Service when i last traveled in December 2012, i have seen them cleaning the coaches.
I didn't see them even once in my numerous journeys by dis train...

The train has On-Board Housekeeping Service. The contract is given to BVG (Barath Vikas Group India Ltd.) When i traveled in December 2012 and last Thursday, May 9, 2013 I saw them.

Soon this incident will be forgotten too... While Travelling In Rajdhani Last month From Nzm to Sbc A fellow passenger was served vegetable curry with a worm in it.. I tried to photograph it but was quickly taken away by catering boy... Well no complaint was filed by the passenger even though i insisted...
the futility of complaints may have led the fellow to get discouraged. thats what is the hard reality. but still i do encourage at least register a complaint.

The 2A coaches are neat in this train. AB1 is a composite coach consisting of 3rd AC and 2nd AC accommodation. This is not an extra coach added for peak season.
This is one of the best maintained and cleanest trains. So rest assured it'll be clean.

As expected,no extension of 12133/4 or 12619/20 to Kerala. Infact no trains to Kerala via KR at all. Guess the RM read my mind. Mangalore got 2 new trains through KR,one to SBC and another to KCG. Quite satisfied to say the least...:)

Not gonna happen. Protests will stir up as soon as an official announcement is made and the train will have to be diverted via SWR.
Yes, definitely this was a bad decision. Instead, RM could have changed the route of the already announced MAQ-KCG train via KJM. But i dont think any protests later will work

Is this a longer route Vignesh and what is the difference in length ?
The new route takes around 15 hrs (around 780 kms). Route through Hassan - Tumkur takes around 11 hrs (around 390 kms). Distance is almost double, but due to Ghat sections in between takes more time. But Night trains in SBC - MAQ through ASK is very much needed. Many buses plys in this route taking advantage of lone night train, which travels through MYS, which is a longer route.

There's been some miscommunication. The biweekly train via CLT is the KCG express and not SBC Express. KCG has been misinterpreted as SBC.
I think you are mistaken there. The Bangalore-Mangalore weekly express announced in the Railway Budget was made a bi-weekly and this is routed via Calicut-Palghat. This is not MAQ-KCG Express

This trains always has a habit of running minimum of 1 hour late till Madgaon / Karwar n thereon due to slack it makes up time by reaching MAJN on time or a few minutes late.
The major reason I think is its insufficient time given for run between CSTM - TNA - PNVL belt. It gets just 63 minutes as against minimum required of 75 minutes due to crossings at CSTM, DIVA n PNVL. It gets delayed here by around 15 minutes triggering a chain of delays as it doesn't meet timely crossings.
I think, it should depart at 21.55 hours instead of 22.15 hours, just after Hussainsagar which...

No it cant happen because there is a Khopoli local at 21:58 which reaches Karjat at 23:53 and very soon after 15 mins Ltt - Coimbatore arrives at Karjat and Siddheshwar also follows it.

Possible bcoz LTT Coimbatore arrives Karjat at 00.07 hours followed by Siddeshwar at 00.32 hours. 22.58 Khopoli Local reaches Karjat at 23:53 and with 4 min delay it will reach at 23:57, 10 minutes before LTT CBE express...

Got a reply from CR stating that it runs directly from CSTM to Thane without any halt in contrast to the fast trains having halts at 4 stations. There is no proposal for attaching LHB coaches due to limited supply by the board.
