My first ever experience of Shipra Exp and second experience of ALD/COI-MGS stretch, here I am presenting some of pics taken en-route (after COI). The train made a run an excellent run till MZP by hitting MPS at most. After MZP, some struggle started till Chunar but after that again was in action. Train was only 1 hr delayed upto MGS which was very much acceptable in this congested stretch. It OT'ed 13132 ANVT-KOAA at Manda Road and in addition she didn't gave a chance to other trains to OT herself ;)
Aapne bhi CoI MGS ke darshan kar liye badhiya hai
Ji sir ... bharpoor anand mila darshan karke
Chunar ke baad kafi boring lagega non rf ko kyu CAR se sari train ek duje ke pichhu chalti hai aur delay increase hota hai
Here I am sharing some of the pics of my recent journey to Bhopal in Shipra Exp . . .
It was hauled by HWH WAP 4 till COI and BRC WAP 5 after Katni . . . (didnt spotted the loco from COI to KTE)
Its a superb train to travel . The coach was a bit old but was well maintained . The train arrived only 30 mins late at Bhopal .
Wow... mind blowing snaps of a train that is less covered by rail fans. It's a decent train from Calcutta to places of Sonbhadra District of UP :-D
Take a star.... by the way did you take any photos from the Grand Chord Route during this train journey (Window seat photos or outer views) ? :-)
Thanks a lot :)
Also this is one of the very few trains to Bhopal & Indore from Bengal & Bihar region
Sir , I boarded this train at Gaya Jn at 2AM so I couldnt take any pic of the Grand Chord section . . .
Great pics of rarely framed section ...
Thanks a lot . . . will post some more pics soon
12987/Sealdah Ajmer was standing on pf 2.
12307/hwh-ju arrived on platform 3.
Hatia Patna patliputra express was standing on platform 7.
12987/Sealdah Ajmer left and after 1 min
22911/Indore Howrah shipra express arrived on
Busy time at the Grand Chord's prime station............
Interesting that DHN allowed SDAH AII to go ahead than HWH JU....looks like MGS/ALD will do it........
As for the rest.......
HTE PPTA would have be delayed.....as it is comparitively low priority train, Maurya would go in the opposite direction....towards RNC departing on time!
Still takes 7hrs for Kalka Mail/Mumbai Mail to cover MGS DHN...Grand Chord has lost the efficiency it used to had before
Interesting entry. New type.
Kalka Mail and CSTM mail have had innumerable halts between DHN-MGS....beside been subjected to numerous overtakes!
That is the prime reason for the delays they face....
And beside that the traffic on the GC has increased by leaps and bounds....the lines are the same......
Btw...they do a much better job than the HWH-PNBE mainline!
On the contrary 12311 almost always reaches MGS 30 mts b/t
Really........then there must be a huge slack provided in the train's TT.......I don't see where the Grand Chord is at fault here!
For people from Asansol and Dhanbad.
ASN-DHN are two divisional railway stations 59 km apart on Grand Chord.
Below is an image of partial train list from ASN-DHN in increasing order of time taken
Quite unique to see few MEMU with 11 intermediate stops giving a tough fight to mighty superfast
Slack Devta at Play here.......ASN-DHN section is provided mighty slacks.
1. The bridges over the Damodar and Khudia are old and ricketry, leading to lower speeds.
2. Confluence of ECR-ER....DHN is endpoint of ECR....ASN div starts only about 10kms from DHN. The train control is handed over from DHN control room to ASN Control room.
3. Very less slacks before DHN and after ASN.
Btw this section can also handle high speeds as 12301 usually covers this section in 35 minutes.....
All points are valid but, speed restrictions are for MEMU and superfasts alike.
If an express crosses at 30 limit so does the rest.
Confluence of divisions hardly matter as trains run rampant on the route.(Personal experience)
Trains are rarely delayed in DHN-GAYA or HWH-ASN route so slack is actually not needed at all.
in Dhanbad arrival 2h late dep.7h late. whooooooooo 5 hr. stay t danb st in oct2 . for celebartion of Gandi Jayenti ha ha ha. what a timeing a superfast train.
for indb hwh travellers better option is to take indore ngp express till ngp and then catch 12101 or 12129 from there compared to shipra. I wonder why the pooja special also announced on this route and not via ngp bsp route
this is the waste train i traveled . no timing , no cleanliness, attenders are waste. food not available. but all time full, ticket not available . last 5 years i travel in this train no change. one thing only change it increase the fare . for super fast. time is same. what is the meaning of super fast? only change the no.?
22911 shipra start from INDB platfom no.6
