Running late by 20mins, 11014 Coimbatore[CBE]-Lokamanya Tilak(T)[LTT] Kurla express descends the ramp from the Salem line to proceed towards Bangalore City for a reversal and loco change. Taking the honors was big hunk Golden Rock[GOC] WDG4 12606.

Guys I'm in Train 11014 and the engine has failed at Malavali station. How long will it take to for train to start again? Nearest junction is Pune. Will they send an engine for it?

how do you expect us sitting at our homes/offices to tell when will the engine be repaired or when will ur train leave?
Ask the loco pilot or the station master at Malavi..
If spare is available in Lonavala, they will send a loco from there itself, else will have to wait till a loco comes from Pune.
IF the loco is failed, then starting it isn't so easy. so u need to wait until a rescue loco comes.
Better ask the SM or the Crew about it.

I am not dumb to expect an exact answer from anyone here. Just needed an idea about how this thing works. Check how other people have replied you might get an answer for your question as well.

I will suggest you to alight at Kalyan. 11014 should arrive at Kalyan by 16.00 hours. Ur connecting train 12173 Udyog Nagari Express also halts at Kalyan and will arrive at PF 4 of Kalyan at 17:05 minutes. U can board it from Kalyan. Have a happy Journey.

Good to hear that ur train will start now. It will take minimum 2 hours ans 45 mins from Malavli to LTT aka Kurla, so plan accordingly so that u don't miss your connecting train.

I have to perform the journey with this train to Bangalore what are the chances that it will reach few minutes late to Coimbatore, I have a connecting train Rajdhani from Bangalore.Now running 2 hr 2 mins late.
Even though its running late...Since having around 4 buffer you should be able to make it to Rajdhani....
Also the thing is it has high slack between SBC-CBE could well make up good amount of lost time...

Can anybody please say that if this train is at least 20 mins late upto Erode then why it get suddenly late for upto an hour near Hosur and Dharmapuri, then cover up and reach same 20 mins late on SBC, what is the reason is there a single line or what.

Now running neck-to-neck with 16530/UDYAN EXP. Wonder why this train left late CBE, as paring train was on time.
