You can sit on the lower berth, towards the corner. There are numbers at lower berth that are assigned for seating during daytime.

There should be a train from SBC to Trichy/Thanjavur/ that can cover the distance in about 7 hrs. 16231 takes too much time at present. Maybe they could route 16231 via Rasipuram/Namakkal instead of via Erode, and thus save time.
