Your primary concern is poor condition of the interior of the coaches. But this is a maintainence issue. The local railway division has to sort it. The halting time at different stations can be considerably curtailed. But more than that Kerala Express needs better bogies. The toilets are filthy. You may choose the airways. what for it having stop at erode you don't know ..it may refill the water for toilets, like that many more reasons are there.. the drivers may have duty change for the long running trains. Kerala express name gives an impression that it belongs to Kerala but not railways. Better solution is To Introduce New Rajdhani Or Sampark Kranthi Express Via Vijayavada & Coimbatore Route To Trivandrum. In Karnataka , Two Karnataka Sampark Kranthi Express Via Two Route. I.e One Is Via Hyderabad Route And Second One Is Via Hubli Route. Joji hi, everyone travelling in Kerala express has the opinion that the speed should be increased to 78 km/hr, should halt at only main junctions till salem [while coming from New Delhi] so that the travel time is reduced, quality of food & cleanliness needs to be improved as these food are also served to kids. We request our hon'ble railway minister to look into the problems which ladies and kids are facing while travelling for almost 50 hrs currently. We also request Mamtadidi to introduce the New Delhi-Ernakulam duranto train within this month as done for people of bengal. Mathew/charley/jim/susan/jose/rajesh/mahesh The best solution is to have 2626 start at nighttime - around 2100 from delhi,( like TN Express) instead of 1130. That will allow the train to cover the congested northern sector and the sector in AP/TN in the night time, when there is less passenger traffic. Probably 3 hours can be knocked off the total running time with just this change. Of course, this would mean that instead of reaching TVC on day 3 at 1420, it would reach there around 2000 hrs on day 3 The route through konkan from ndls- tvc is longer by at least 100 km and has at least 800 km single line section. And over 50% of the journey by konkan route is by diesel engine. 2626's current route is at 100% electrified and probably only 200-300 km (or less) b/w renigunta and katpadi is single line. do a search here for trains b/w ndls and tvc and rank them by travel time and you will see for urself. Best solution: take 2434/2612 (Rajdhani/Garib Rath) from delhi to Vijayawada. Dep. time at Delhi is 1600 and arrival at Vijayawada is 1420 the next day. Now, get off and wait for 40 minutes and the Kerala express will arrive at Vijayawada at 1500. Get on and stay on till thiruvanthapuram!! Since Kerala exp. departed delhi at 1130 am previous day, you have saved 4.5 hours overall.. Only problem is that 2424/2612 combined only run for 3 days/week. stoppings like sevagram, ramagundam, nellore gudur, renigunta, chittor, jolerpet, erode, tirupur have to be removed. In Kerala stoppings should be increased. karunagapalli, ettumanur, piravam road, angamali, divine nagar, chalakudi, wadakancheri, ottapalam stops have to be given in order to signify its 'KERALA' Express. Then this train can only kerala...not other states.... Then this train can run only kerala...not other states.... Guys come on think as an Indian, not as a kerallite or a Tamilian... or a maharashtrian. We need to think like indians, progress as Indians and keep regionalism aside. Agra is a very big station and it will help for Taj Mahal Tourists.So a stop at Agra is very need and you don't call it a useless stop. Bina stop can be removed.But Sevagram near Nagpur,which is famous for Gandhiji's Ashram.So,a stop at Sevagram is very needed. Mangala runs between eranakulam and nizamuddin where as Kerala runs between Thiruvanthapuram and NewDelhi. For Mangala the kilometer is inflated 40% because of Konkan route. If some unimportant stops are removed it will be best for both trains. Hi, I am rajan Nair from delhi i think kerala Express is slow , why we waste 3 days , Kerala Express first day starting from Delhi & Covering argra , Jhansi, Bhopal Nagpur & Balharshah ( with in 24 hrs.) but than after 2nd day Kerala Express ran only in Adhara , ( morning 9:30 am to 11:25 pm) no need to train go to Vijayawada & waist our time. where to you want to go after balharshah? which way? konkan route is closed for rainy season and almost all trains are re routed differently which means more distance and time consumed. atleast the present route is a permanent steady one with very negligible serious problems. But facts are facts. current status is RAC 22,23,24 and wl1 now what u expect, its one week left Having RAC means you can travel in the train. I sincerely wish that you get a confirmed ticket. 2 RAC persons can get one berth which has to be shared. generally side berths are given for RAC people and i have experienced this travel on RAC, berth could not be confirmed uptill the destination. After that there is no use to run the train for a long distance passengers (FOR EXAM) if the seat availbility is showing waiting list 80 after jhansi it showing 30 after that i book the tatkal ticket only. The coach attendant will take orders for breakfast, lunch and dinner at your seat. The menu is not a la carte. You have choice of vegetarian/non-vegetarian, that's it. The food is Indian, and wrapped in aluminium foil, and delivered to your seat at the appropriate time. It is cheaper to travel by air than to pay for 1st A/C for 3037 km. Don't be crazy. on 1 AC you are getting 2 days of 5-star accommodation, and a lot of free time where you can relax, read books, and spend time talking with your co-travellers and friends, without bothering about day-to-day tasks. The journey is very relaxing, and not tiring at all. Just think of it as a relaxing 2 day holiday, where you can get away from your daily life. air travel is cheaper than 1ac, but a 2-3 hour flight from Kerala to Delhi can easily take upto 10 hours - travel time to airport, checkin, security, flight delays, sitting in an uncomfortable seat. As for food, the train has a pantry car, where you can buy your meals. You can buy bottled water from inside the train.
