New coaches ,ight not have been alloted probably cause the existing coaches still have sufficient life in them. Your primary concern is poor condition of the interior of the coaches. But this is a maintainence issue. The local railway division has to sort it. Please take the initiative and pursue the matter with them. You could use this forum to gather support for your concerns and take oit up with SR. You could make a difference!

Chances for fully confirmed status are good in view of date of journey being more than 2 months away and also tickets are under General wait list. Many un-used specific quota seats are released at the last minute - just at the time of chart preparation and increaded chances for migrating to fully confirmed status.
Under RAC, you are already entitled to a seat accomodation and hence not a matter for tension and worry. Keep patience and no need to keep on checking PNR status frequently. Re-check after 6-7 weeks.

travel in sampark kranthi express. you will get speed as well as non stop before kerala. if you dont wish to travel in kerala expres,, try alternative trains like rajdhani. sampark kranthi etc. this train is meant for all middle and lower class persons hence more stoppages. travel by air which is faster, and less crowded.

each and every persons fancies cant be carried out by railways. it is a general route for all passengers. somebody will request for some other route, its not possible to cater to each and every route. there are so many places in india whch are not even connected by rail. think of their plight. atleast you have some destination nearby you can reach and change over. stop expecting a single train to go via different routes.
somebody else will ask for a different route. this process will never end.

U got E.Ahmed as Min of State for Railways who will lay a dedicated track from Kerala to NDLS so that AP,TN,MP etc can be bypassed.u are at the bottom so take the burden but don't blame others.

Yes kerela express should be speeded up.It can be done easily by removing few stops from where no one joins.train should only stop at tirupati,vijaywada in AP.Nagpur,BPQ in MAha.

You could have asked to remove all the stops...the train would start at NDLS and reach trivandrum without any stop...
How idiotic thought is this.... If a train gets these stop removed then a new train will be demanded to serve the removed destination from previous train.
People has to think a bit technologically.. Adding up of trains will increase the loads on the routes, which in-turn will cause delays...
People... we are in 21st century.... Demand for technology to speed-up the trains and decrease the run-time... instead of talking to remove stops(would be a good solution in 17th century)

you don't ask for remove the stops, the train running for all, not for one man. You may choose the airways. what for it having stop at erode you don't know ..it may refill the water for toilets, like that many more reasons are there.. the drivers may have duty change for the long running trains.

Kerala express name gives an impression that it belongs to Kerala but not railways.

hi, everyone travelling in Kerala express has the opinion that the speed should be increased to 78 km/hr, should halt at only main junctions till salem [while coming from New Delhi] so that the travel time is reduced, quality of food & cleanliness needs to be improved as these food are also served to kids. We request our hon'ble railway minister to look into the problems which ladies and kids are facing while travelling for almost 50 hrs currently. We also request Mamtadidi to introduce the New Delhi-Ernakulam duranto train within this month as done for people of bengal.

The best solution is to have 2626 start at nighttime - around 2100 from delhi,( like TN Express) instead of 1130. That will allow the train to cover the congested northern sector and the sector in AP/TN in the night time, when there is less passenger traffic. Probably 3 hours can be knocked off the total running time with just this change. Of course, this would mean that instead of reaching TVC on day 3 at 1420, it would reach there around 2000 hrs on day 3

The route through konkan from ndls- tvc is longer by at least 100 km and has at least 800 km single line section. And over 50% of the journey by konkan route is by diesel engine.
2626's current route is at 100% electrified and probably only 200-300 km (or less) b/w renigunta and katpadi is single line. do a search here for trains b/w ndls and tvc and rank them by travel time and you will see for urself.

Best solution: take 2434/2612 (Rajdhani/Garib Rath) from delhi to Vijayawada. Dep. time at Delhi is 1600 and arrival at Vijayawada is 1420 the next day. Now, get off and wait for 40 minutes and the Kerala express will arrive at Vijayawada at 1500. Get on and stay on till thiruvanthapuram!! Since Kerala exp. departed delhi at 1130 am previous day, you have saved 4.5 hours overall.. Only problem is that 2424/2612 combined only run for 3 days/week.

stoppings like sevagram, ramagundam, nellore gudur, renigunta, chittor, jolerpet, erode, tirupur have to be removed. In Kerala stoppings should be increased. karunagapalli, ettumanur, piravam road, angamali, divine nagar, chalakudi, wadakancheri, ottapalam stops have to be given in order to signify its 'KERALA' Express.

Hey guy what do know about importants halts like warangal an erode..Warangal is one of the famous station in AP.think of NIT students atleast..even tamilnadu and Rajdhani express stops in warangal..If u ever observed the number of passengers getting IN and OUT...no railway personal would think of removing warangal as a halt for KERALA EXP

one is from konkan route and another is nagpur and vijayawada people.
one is mangala and other is kk.
mangala takes 48 hours 40 min and kerala takes only 46 hours.

Great suggestion is really the way people should think in terms of bringing about changes.

Agra is a very big station and it will help for Taj Mahal Tourists.So a stop at Agra is very need and you don't call it a useless stop.
Bina stop can be removed.But Sevagram near Nagpur,which is famous for Gandhiji's Ashram.So,a stop at Sevagram is very needed.
All trains except newly started Turant Express(Chennai Central-Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin)and Thirukkural Express(Kanyakumari-Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin)stop at Warangal.It is also a station close to Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh state borders.As it is a big station,a stop there is very useful for their people.Or otherwise they have to go to Nagpur,the 3rd Largest City in Maharashtra,after Mumbai and Pune and 200 kms away from Warangal,which is the headquarters of Warangal District.
Nellore is also relatively a big station.Thirukkural Express is the only ordinary train without stop there.Turant Express stops never in any stop between starting and finishing points.Nellore is the headquarters of Nellore District.
Chittoor is also a big station,close to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu state borders.You can't remove Chittoor,as it is the headquarters of Chittoor District.
Jolarpettai is a major junction in Chennai route.It is the biggest station in Vellore District.2 railway lines-One going to Bangalore and the other to Chennai,join here.
Erode is also a major junction in Chennai route.As it is a junction to Thiruchirappalli and Chennai routes,people going to Thiruchirappalli need a stop there.It is also the headquarters of Erode District.
Thiruppur is the headquarters of the newly formed Thiruppur District.It can be also included.Even faster trains stop there.Then why Kerala Express?

You may take other trains to Kerala, which take a shorter route. Do the passengers in Kerala Express from Kerala travel to NDLS only. Do they not travel to places like Vijayawada, Warangal, Ballarshah, Nagpur, etc. One can suggest other trains, but Stops of Kerala Express can't be discontinued/Route changed.

dont be selfish. kindly think of brother keralites also. they are also equally eager to visit their near and dear ones.

You can't say that. Ofcourse, its mainpurpose is to connect Kerala to North.But if the other divisions/zones in between dont provide path to Kerala Exp then Kerala would not have a train to Delhi in this route. At least, if other states, give less preference to this train, then this train cannot overtake any other train in TN,AP,Maharashtra,MP,etc... So try to think in a positive way.

if other states need train connectivity to north let them start new trains. Why are they getting into our train and spoling it. Many unnecessary stops in Southern states. It should be run as non stop in tamilnadu and Andra.

I think,the only way for your solution is the Train should fly,which in this case is not possible,so we need to live with it.Don't be a spoilsport and if you can't take it please use a private JET.

these type of blogs appear time and again showing bias against other states/people, they forget that these are not meant for a particular state and reaches out to the whole of india on its route. in the same way, if delhi/north people think that y should kerala people come to delhi/north, then what, there will b no train to delhi/north. simple.

hahaha..waste train...mangala lakshadweep is faster than this train..travels 3066 kms in just 48 hours...and this train takes 3036 4 50 hours...

Mangala runs between eranakulam and nizamuddin where as Kerala runs between Thiruvanthapuram and NewDelhi. For Mangala the kilometer is inflated 40% because of Konkan route. If some unimportant stops are removed it will be best for both trains.

where to you want to go after balharshah? which way? konkan route is closed for rainy season and almost all trains are re routed differently which means more distance and time consumed. atleast the present route is a permanent steady one with very negligible serious problems.

Lets ask railways to construct a direct fly over track from NDLS to Kerala by-passing all stations or take flight to avoid all these hardships.Everything is not possible sorry for being down under south.

nagpur - vijayawada is the best route which is electrified.just think that kerala exp has no 1st ac that means it is middle class train. thats y many stoppages.

Sorry to be negative. 3AC is practically very difficult. I have it from official sources. Keep checking.. that too 2626 certainly very difficult. But that is my experience, and officials too through up their hands even if there is High Office/HQ quota recommendation. Really sorry to post this kind of answer. But facts are facts.

Having RAC means you can travel in the train. I sincerely wish that you get a confirmed ticket. 2 RAC persons can get one berth which has to be shared. generally side berths are given for RAC people and i have experienced this travel on RAC, berth could not be confirmed uptill the destination. Since there are 4 persons on your group, you can adjust in 2 berths. good luck for confirmed tickets.

SIr, It is the only train which runs on all weekdays and takes less time than all other trains (excluding Raj). You also needs to see this aspect also.

simply having 200 km speed with so many unnecessary halts will not make it faster. even with this speed, if halts are reduced, it will be taking less time. lot of wasteful stoppages are provided at the behest of some big shot mp/vip. reduce it and automatically speed increases.

Indian railway wants to earn profit by introducing more stops so that maximum ppl can use 1 train. what will they get if train is fast? nothing. they r concerned bout givin service to max ppl at lowest quality standards. if u want to travel faster den use rajdhani trains.
dont compare & expect indian railways to give services like foreign nations deliver.

I never saw such bad train...i traveld in 2nd Ac, which is full of cacroach, rats...and food is soo bad after coming i felt seck for 2 days...Worst train with curtins are soo bad and no proper service...Plsssssssssssss dont take this train at all...

Even though the major part of fault lies with railway for not keeping the functioning of toilets clean, we are also to an extent responsible for that.
resposibility has to be from both side.
IRCTC with SBI has a scheme Shubh Yatra where discounts are given for frequent travelers valid on 2AC &1 AC. I am sure short distance passengers will not travel daily in 2AC where the cost is more as compared to other modes of transport (unless they have a golden pass or railway pass)
For frequent travelers try Shubh Yatra scheme. details in irctc website.

for reducing travel time, some stoppages are to be deleted whch is not possible with all those protests etc. simply providing faster trains does not indicate the progress of the country. even in america, there are train accidents. don't combine progress with speed of trains. ask politicians to come with less demand for stops. if you would like faster speeds and less stops go by rajdhani or still, travel by air. india is a vast country and everybody cant afford air travel. these are likely to stay. its better to accept the fact rather than crib about it.

Initially when a train does not stop at medium stations, people clamour for stops. then they say it should not stop at so many places. In that way, Sampark Kranti express are better. for less stops, use sampark kranti expresses for going from one destination to other. for intermediate stations use the train which stops at yur destination.

food quality is good, but the toilet are completely on god's mercy !

chicken is not healthy in train but thalis r pathetic. go for chicken biryani rather than thali or egg curry. do check d price while paying. these guys r cheap.

toilets r all clean till nobody uses. but in vijaywada they normally spring clean every thing toilets too n make ur rest of the journey in a new train.

Very long distance trains like this usually have good pantry and water facilities.

food is served, u can buy a lot of things u need. waffers, soft drinks, water throughout d journey. try for station food especially the idli n thali at thrissur station. its more than worth. but fruits at vijaywada n dont miss fresh pineapple juice at vijaywada stn.

Dream on friend. This is never going to happen. Once it was extended and people protested. Kerala express is a prestigious train connecting the nation's capital with the state capital. Chandigarh has no importance here. Instead increase the frequency of sampark.

instead of extending this train till chandigarh, frequency of sampark kranti can be increased. It wil have twin advantage for cdg people. It will be fast as well as it will stop in stations after it enters kerala state.

why only chandigarh if u want to extend the kerala express. why not till merrut or haridwar or amritsar. do u think only chandigarh's people travel in kerala express. it is not possible that every train can be connected to every place...not possible...one is require to change trains

All of the following daily-running southbound trains from Delhi - Kerala Exp, Tamil Nadu Exp, AP Exp and Karnataka Exp can be expected to have good pantry facilities, because:
these trains are regular, prestigious expresses that have been running for decades. These are not special or temporary trains. These trains have food menu/pantry system that is almost constant, and many regular passengers depend on them.

There is no dining carriage in Indian trains. The coach attendant will take orders for breakfast, lunch and dinner at your seat. The menu is not a la carte. You have choice of vegetarian/non-vegetarian, that's it. The food is Indian, and wrapped in aluminium foil, and delivered to your seat at the appropriate time.

It is cheaper to travel by air than to pay for 1st A/C for 3037 km. Don't be crazy.

on 1 AC you are getting 2 days of 5-star accommodation, and a lot of free time where you can relax, read books, and spend time talking with your co-travellers and friends, without bothering about day-to-day tasks. The journey is very relaxing, and not tiring at all. Just think of it as a relaxing 2 day holiday, where you can get away from your daily life.
air travel is cheaper than 1ac, but a 2-3 hour flight from Kerala to Delhi can easily take upto 10 hours - travel time to airport, checkin, security, flight delays, sitting in an uncomfortable seat. After every air travel, I am so tired and frustrated, I want to take rest for 2 more days to recover.

There is A/C 1st in TVC Rajdhani. Cost is 5240 only.

Instead of paying 5000/- for a train....why don't you opt for Air Travel?

You get free bedding - 2 white sheets, 1 pillow and 1 blanket. The coach is air-conditioned. Food is NOT free. The long journey is quieter and more comfortable in ac 2 tier, than in the regular sleeper class.

I recently went in two tier ac from bangalore to guwhati and had to buy magnifying glasses to see from which angle it can be called as ac Pls do not get carried away u just cant believe what indian railways can do Luckier u are if the coaches are new other wise better travel in slepper class atleast it wont pinch the pockets First of all confirm whether the train is southern bound sice they provide ok services If the train is northern bound even the good god cant save u good luck

you say Its better travelling in the south direction as in heading down from Delhi to Varkala, why would the service be any less in the other direction as I would believe there the same trains

Iam not talking of the direction in which the train runs as it runs insanely My point is southern division trains for eg karnataka exp is run by bangalore and hence has better facilities and same vice-versa if u travel in sangamitra exp running from bangalore to patna it is patna division and has hopless coaches and service Lots of politics is played while sanctioning trains and new coaches as far as my knowledge good luck for ur journey

What class are you travelling in? If you are travelling in one of the AC classes, bedding will be provided free. However, in the general Sleeper class, you will have to carry your own bedding.
As for food, the train has a pantry car, where you can buy your meals. You can buy bottled water from inside the train. It's a long trip, so carry a thick novel with you.

yes, the pantry inside the train serves hot meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner (not free, though).

Gandu saale tum train ko ganda karo aur upar se kisi aur ko bolo train clean karne ko...Its your responsibility to keep train clean. Go and see your house. Do you also keep same cleanliness in your house. If you and thousands of passenger like you follow the instruction given at railway station and the train then there wont be any need to blame anybody. I hope the point is clear to you. The cleanliness starts from you.

@ SKM:- yar this is not the thing of LALU he is only the ministery for railways.I hope u travelled a lot to kerela u hav find most of the trains are in bad condition like Kerela Sampark kranti,TVC raj,kerela exp etc.. Kerela and other coastal parts of southern side should be seperated from the Southern Railways(SR) and have a seperate zone , only then it is possible to make improvement..
