Ashok^~ 21587 blog postsFor passengers bound to Tumkur and surrounding areas, its better to get down at Gauribidanur as there is a direct bus from Gauribidanur to Tumkur at 5am via Koratagere (Total travel time is 2 hours). This is a private bus service (quite prompt in maintaining timings) and government bus service starts by 7am. Bus stand at Gauribidanur is in walkable distance from railway station (around 1.5 kms). Autos are available at station entrance.
Also buses bound to Tumkur, pass by LC gate located next to railway station where in they stop for passengers to board.

Coaches are neat. On-board catering is available, both veg and non-veg. Train arrives in Bangalore (delay by 15 minutes).
Delay will not be more than 15 minutes, it even comes on time
these days punctuality improved a lot...earlier it never used to arrive on time...its like once per week that too with minimal 20-30min delay...now its almost on time or with very minimal delay on daily basis

Siddharth S^~ 23600 blog postsaverage delay of 30 mins is maintained by the train in both directions towards the destination stations owing to single line track completely- so the grace time need to be taken into account when planning for a connection or cases where its crucial to keep up the timings
Half an hour delay is still common..Too aggressive schedule for a single line
