Yatharth 498 blog postsIf you are alone and looking for a ticket in this train and not able to get it dont worry. Try its general coaches. They are six in number 3 at each end. Again since train is not too old, many people who travel in general class are unaware about it. Pretty good chances of getting a comfortable seat and even chance to sleep in its general coaches.

The coach attendent asked for breakfast and the options were Poha & Jalebi, Samosa and Kachori. We ordered both and delivered to our seat on Ratlam Jn. Total cost Rs. 220/- It was sufficient for 3 of us. Pohas were sweet. Both dishes were nicely packed in a sweet box and wrapped with a rubber band.
This is a train without PC. So it was good you got breakfast. Rs 220 is quite expensive for One Samosa, One Kachodi, Poha and Jalebi?
Yeah. That is what he has written. But 73 per head is a little too much for a railway breakfast, no? I am comparing it to Pantry car breakfast
He has also mentioned that the quality of breakfast was excellent.....so I think 73 is justified for Poha + Jalebi + Samosa + Kachori
My mouth is watering asking/answering these questions. The way you put it, I suppose it is okay. The quantity and quality justify the price

Yes it is very expensive. But I had no other choice than to buy it. I was so frustrated that even a tea vendor was not available during entire journey. I was getting down at all the stations when train stopped but the coach was almost at the end so did not dare to reach platform canteen and buy something. Only at Ratlam I got time to reach canteen and the canteen got crowded by all the train passengers due to same issue :)

220 is too much bro for breakfast that too poha & jalebi. You would have asked him for menu Card with prices.

I forgot it when I was travelling but will keep a note of it next time.
73 to jyada hai yaar.....uss bhai ne kaunsa Jalebi ko desi ghee mein banaya hoga jo itne maang raha tha... max to max 60 le leta...20rs ka samosa kachori, 10rs poha...baaki jalebi ke..

trainlovercr79~ 259 blog postsBedsheets were provided immediately after train came on pf4. Surprised to see that napkins were provided. There were some stains on the bedsheets but still they were clean and white.

Yatharth 498 blog postsIf you are trying a ticket in this train and not able to get. Try following option. Get a ticket in Avadh Express, which runs just before it and generally TTE are able to accomodate you in Avadh by charging differential fare between UR and SL. Get down at Dahod. At Dahod, on the same platform on which you get down from Avadh, after few minutes comes 22901. So you can have nice sleep in avadh and then spend rest of day journey in 22901. I have tried it myself once.

If you see route, both trains run back to back from BDTS till Dahod. I have always observed that no overtaking happens before Ratlam. Avadh first reaches Ratlam followed by 22901. At times both meet at Ratlam Platform 5 and Platform 6 and then moves for their respective destinations. Avadh towards Nagda and 22901 towards Mandsaur.

When I travelled recently in 22901, we reached Ratlam and 19037 arrived on the adjacent platform and our train left from Ratlam. Also, at Dahod and in between, I did not see 22901 overtaking 19037
