Will be useful. One of the biggest issues in increasing coaches for this train was the pf length. A high demand commuter train especially in North Kerala. The extension might help in increase of 2 coaches at least which will be useful to some extent

A valid proposal, however one big constraint in having trains extended to these smaller stations would mean railways having to deploy extra staff in these stations just for the purpose of cleaning and maintenance only for 1 train. Similarly the electrical wing will keep highlighting loco utilisation as another point. New set of loco pilots will have to man the train in return direction so that will be Xtra cost. They will have to travel from bigger stations like MAQ to these stns and will have to be provided with some allowance. I do recollect one rail staff mentioning this that cost, utilisation of staff are all being looked at very closely by railways whenever such extensions are proposed. These are valid suggestions though

Everybody is asking what is the source of the information ? Nobody knows. Just one MP it seems has come out with this piece of information. Railways may need to clarify. Similar request of a new division has cropped up in CBE. They want to move out of Salem once CBE became the third highest revenue generating stn in SR. Will have to wait and see as to what is the response and update

Lesser number of general coaches in trains, overcrowding in sleeper were all issues felt across the country in many trains yet surprised that not much highlight was done by either media or any other people earlier. From time to time some tweets etc were posted but nothing beyond. Even passengers it seems have given up. When local level protest happen, the division authorities tell that it is a RB decision.
RB never steps out of office to check even once I guess !!

Yes correct. It was SA division responsibility to take this up especially knowing fully well that CBE is an important station. I think SA division formed in 2007/2008. It has been 15 years and now they are realising that infra needs to be upgraded. Despite CBE having 6 PF, all long distance trains cannot be received in all platforms. Had they done something on that to a huge extent congestion can be resolved in receiving and dispatching trains
