The Pratapgarh - Kanpur all General coaches ICE via Lucknow though the shortest route cuts via Raebareily and then via rural area. But very few trains and no express/mails take it.

I have question, why aren't more Kanpur bound trains run via the Unchahar Dalmau line?
Not only does it effectively avoids the congested Lucknow, but it is shortest NR line from BSB/PRG side.
If NR doubles and develops this line, it will be a good alternative to the DDU-PRYJ-CNB section of the HWH-NDLS line...

Sab stations NSG-5, 4 aur kuch station NSG-3 categories ke hai.

route bas ek bypass route ban jayega jisse NR ko bahut kam revenue hoga.
NR nhi chahta ki vo is route ko develope krne pe kharcha kre aur baaki zones iska istemal kre faster connection ke liye.

Via Lucknow route pe Kai badhe station aate hai jaise ki Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Raebareli, Nihalgarh. In stations se achha revenue aata hai. Agar Unchahar dalmau wale route pe dekhe to Unchahar aur Unnao yahi dono achha revenue dene wale stations hai but inka revenue bhi bahut kam hai.

Usme NR ne bola ki is route pe Phaphamau Bypass abhi passenger trains ke liye fit nhi hai.
Irony ye hai ki usi Phaphamau Bypass pe Sultanpur Prayagraj route ki train chalti hai aur malgadhi chalti hai. Fir bhi NR ke hisaab se vo route abhi fit nhi hai.
Bahanebaji hai sab ye.

There are 2 points: first is trains come upto Rae bareily then switch to the shorter rural line and merge at Unnao thus bypassing Lucknow. I think IR ought to do it for some weekly trains but LKO is such a big station that except for dedicated passengers, no train does it.

Second and what still baffles me, is the Kanpur-Unnao-Allahabad line. This line is not much longer than the main line and while the mps is ~110 only it bypasses much of the congestion. Only a passenger, ICE and one Express

runs on it. At night, it resembles a ghost area. Most trains just go straight from Kanpur to Allahabad without stopping at Fatehpur [the only major station enroute NCR], so they can in theory, be done via Kanpur-Unnao-ALD route as well. Especially for trains that end at ALD, there is every reason to use that line. IMO, the ALD Humsafar should use that line for once. It starts from there only, so it can easily be shifted to 'Prayagraj Sangam' if needed and started [and it is basically non stop till Delhi except for a Technical halt].

All IR needs to do is upgrade these lines to consistent 110+ mps and proper double them at all places.

Even some trains from HWH/DDU side maybe re-routed via this route. The added benefit will be BSB will also be included, and while PRYJ,PRG etc will be byepassed using the PFM byepass, an alternate route can be achieved.
Especially trains towards KSG side etc, that go via CNB, CPA route.

For LKO, a dedicated train must be introduced. Demand in the HWH-LKO

When using the PFM bypass, would Phaphamau station come within the train's route? Because if yes, trains can be given a halt there instead. It's not the optimum station for Allahabad but better to have a halt at outskirts than no halt at all.

This train was very good for MLN bound passenger when it was ICF, NER destroyed this train after RSA with Purvanchal express.

Also I feel it is right time NER should introduce daily up/down train to KGM from this route with LR at BPR or IZN.

Agree:Less than 500km, attach min 8GS
Some RSAs are useless. Another one not quite suited is the one b/w ASH-GKP ICE and LJN-PPTA ICE. Due to the long distance and often delayed run of the latter, it has ~8 AC coaches now including an AC 2 Tier. It makes sense on a 500+ km route; but not for an ICE, especially one that goes via loop line to GKP.

The Intercity via main line b/w Lucknow and Gorakhpur does perfect with only 3 AC Chair Cars.

TPU-LJN train should be commenced because when the Nainital Express was running during meter gauge era, some coached were attached coming from Tanakpur, so why don't full train should be starts from there.

True, Nainital Express, in one form or the other should be started from LJN/ASH. This stretch is mostly empty at night, so even if they do a late night start, it'll only have one xing with an incoming passenger train before racing towards Pilibhit until morning with no trains to OT/xing with.
