Even if they run this train with a better schedule & extra stops, still occupancy will be poor. So I think the decision to run JBP-R Intercity is valid & there is demand for that route.
Maalgadi ke loye hi yeh route hain. Jab tak Doubling nahi hoga, kuch nahi hoga
BPQ - ET - JBP route pe itne trains hain, aur kuch ko divert karna chahiye is route pe. Lekin ghatiya zone SECR ka kya hi karein. Pata nahi woh Tamil Sangamam train kaise le liya is route pe, shayad CR, WCR ne mainline se mana kiya hoga.

Just received an info that dates of this train would be extended.
for how many days, it got cancelled and when did it re-start ?
Today (00:09) 13483/Farakka Express (Via Ayodhya Cantt.) (PT) | BLGT/Balurghat (2 PFs)

It means Farakka will not be cancelled in winter for two days due to extra rake provided.Malda people's were so much frustrated that it will be cancelled in winter as it's gone to Balurghat from one side and another to Punjab.
That winter time cancellation thing completely depends on the respective zones and RB but the late arrival of one rake now is not going to affect the timely departure of other rakes from Balurghat untill and unless the arriving rake is delayed by more than 24hrs.
Honestly i was expecting the extra rake since this extension was demanded by a high profile person.

Extra rake given by RB to NFR zone to reduce the delay and give ontime departure and in winter to reduce the rescheduling time from balurghat as in current TT it is not possible to run this crawler as it gets delayed in most of the zones due to less priority in its route.
